Beth,
You had a rough time around with your fourth baby: a reluctant doctor, a really rude nurse, and kids and husband aren't sure about this baby. I know I felt that way when my younger brother was born, but we got along as children and later in life.
Your story is one that should be read, because you write about having bad luck all around--yet you survived and vanquished your bad luck with a beautiful daughter.
Good luck in the contest.
Cindy

Thank you again. I really appreciate you review and comments. I think everyone has some thinks that aren't pleasant. I don't think my story is very different from other peoples. Our problems might be different, but we all have to cope with whatever comes our way.

New Orleans one of my favorite cities, especially the West Bank area and Gretna.

"class rooms" should classrooms.

Seems all ended well after the fiasco of the campout was resolved.

Thank you Btett. New Orleans is great place of fun-loving adults. It isn't the prefect place to raise kids.

Oh my goodness a 10lb baby! Wow! I am glad everything finally went well and I was wondering what a saddle-block meant but I guessed it was an epidural. This is a brave write with some intimate details included, it sounds like your family was complete now Beth, love Dolly x

Thank you Dolly, Yes it was an epidural. I probably should change it. I think they are the same. Yes this completed our family. I don't know how my ancestors survived having 10 kids or more, but many of them did.

Another very interesting chapter in your story. I can relate to this a bit, as our two older children were 8 and 9 years old, when their little brother was born. It was quite a surprise, but he has been a real blessing to us all.

Another endearing and fascinating light view of your past. I love the comedy at the end - and actually throughout - although of course it wasn't so much fun for you! And now your daughter is fifty! Time!

Sounds as if you have all your ducks in a row and the church is a great source for your whole family. Again I got a kick out of Don asking the doctor to look for a boy. Love the description of your baby resembling a sumo wrestler. Funny about Evan not wanting to share the news with his co-workers. Again, you end with a cliff hanger.

Than you for the review and comments. Don is usually for comic relief except when he get too sensitive.

So, it sounds as though you had no time for writing during this time!

Beth, there isn't a true story of yours that I read and shake my head in wonderment as to how unfortunate circumstances follow you!

Can't wait to hear what "the fun" is that's just beginning, lol! Being a mother, I have an idea, but it'll probably be something I never experienced:-)

Thank you, Pam. It all those mishaps that make me laugh now. I can't be the only one that has things go wrong. I think I've had a good life but I guess it doesn't sound like it when I write about it.

10lb baby is something's for sure. I think our biggest was in the nine pounds but look at them now. I was surprised your pastor allowed you to drive. I think the place you described was under water with Katerina. Good one. Beth

Thank you for review and the stars. Yes it was definitely underwater in Katerina. The street was flooded where boats could go down a couple of times when we were and pumping station wasn't working.

Katerina was tough. Many lost their lives. However certain insurence companies showed their true colors to thos in Mississippi. State Farm really cheated those who had their policies. TODAY. i WOUL NOT INSURES MY DOG WITH THEM. i LOVE MY DOG.AND FOR SURE HE WOULD NOT HAVE PROTECCTION. What a wist of money to spend on State Farm. Farmers Group did right about their customers.

I understand. I had a ten-pound elven ounce baby. Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed reading. I know people don't realize some people do have large families.

I think you tell your recollections in such a nice flowing passive way. The church moving and coming closer to you must have been such a blessing. I love the description of the bike path and lake. Life was so different back in the seventies without cell phones, cable, and video games. Life outside was so much more special. Thanks for sharing your family. I too will have an interesting take on the birth of my first son, that is if Mary says yes to my marriage proposal in a few chapters. Blessings around the bend!
