This is a great modern fable. It speaks to greed and how it and longing for material possessions takes humanity out of the person. I love the picture of the whale by Seshadri, he was a good friend of mine when he was a writer on FS as well as an artist.
This reminds me of so many fables that teach the same thing about possessions and how they can ruin one's life if they own them and dominate them over love and things that really matter.

This is a very good fable you have written. The moral of the story is very true because weath doesn't make for happiness. I think this fable could compete with Aesop's fables and should do well in the contest.

I enjoyed reading your story. The moral of your story was well presented. It is true that wealth does not buy happiness. Diamonds and jewels usually will be passed down to the immediate family, not sold.

Very well-written fable with an important message. The man thought he would be happy if he had wealth, possessions, and a beautiful wife. He found that it did not make him happy at all.
