When we were kids, we had to come in from playing from 3pm to 5pm. It also seemed the sky got darker. Then we were supposed to be quiet the entire time. This from a child's perspective.

How strange that you would say that, Liz. My mother always said to watch around noon advocate Friday and it would become darker outside. I do appreciate your very kind review and comments. I hope you had a blessed Easter. Lots of love, Debi.

What a great poem for Easter, Debi, which has spiritual and historic meaning. And right in time for Easter.
Excellent artistic presentation, I also compliment your visuals and imagery. This is a remarkable spiritual verse.

Debi:
To be sure, none of us will ever be able to count all the blessings God bestows us on any one day, much less throughout our lives. I loved your poem as well as the songs you added to this post. Thanks for sharing.

-Very nice artwork and presentation, Debie.
-You wrote a very good poem with effective imagery and rhyme.
-You also tell a good story.
-Each verse makes a good point of what Jesus did and
how it has played a part in your life.
-I like how you put the second verse into your own words
of what happened on the cross.
-A very good concluding verse.
-Good luck in the contest.

I'm so glad you have your faith. I know Jesus lived and he was persecuted in the worst way possible. The Christian world has celebrated that ever since, although celebrates could be misconstrued. All best, Ulla:)))

Love the title of your poem though I suppose any day is a good day to count one's blessings. Today, the sun in shing, spring is in the air, and I sent Easter with family eating good food and laughing. Lots of blessings. Thank you, Deb, for sharing, and may your Easter be filled with love, laughter, and hope.

I like the cleverness in your lines all rhyming in unity. Good thoughts for Friday, but also Easter, as we rejoice that He lives and we shall also. Good songs! Best wishes in the contest. Carol

Hey there dear Carol, I thank you for your review and your comments. I wrote this poem, as a tribute to counting our blessings on a day that I think get's too little attention. The day of the resurrection, which leads of course to our salvation as I write that we may all live together in His afterglow. This has nothing to do dear friend with your very low ratings, but just want to make sure that you knew that your love for Jesus is the same love that I feel in this poem and in every spiritual word for Him. In all that I do, because of all that He did, I count my many blessings, such as friends like you. God Bless, and happy Easter to you, Sweet Carol. With love, Debi

A beautifully written poem about sacrifice and love. It's also a testament to your true faith in the Lord, I loved it. I hope you and your family have a lovely Easter celebration.

Very solemn and prayerful tone. It's an eye opener, because we take too many things for granted and forget that all this would not be, if not for the cross. I am through a storm right now, and that reminds me of the need to count my blessings.
Thanks for your beautiful poem
