I have to give you credit for taking on such a difficult subject. I am glad that your story had the couple being accepted. Far to many gay youth are rejected and tossed out by their families or in trying to live a straight life are unhappy.
Good luck in the contest.

Kudos on taking on several "controversial" themes. I admire that you embraced this contest challenge with a socially relevant topic.

I went off and read about this "graduation from marriage" trend:

Intriguing.

The gay issue is so pervasive in all cultures ~ I like that you focused on one culture to take a deeper look.

Nice story, Jake.

hmm like a lot of things in Asia there are similar trends in each Asia country but each country thinks they invented it! I had not heard this was a thing in Japan but i suppose it is there and in China as well

I really like your story and I'm glad it worked out for Maria and Sara. Although things are improving for LGBTQ individuals, it is still a tough world for them. You did a great job with this story.

thanks a lot it was fun to write about a LBGTQ character - as a straight married man it was a nice challenge to get into the characters's head.

You are very welcome. I agree. I often do character profiles when I'm having trouble with a character and write down everything as if I'm talking about a real person. When I'm finished, I can see the world through their eyes and it makes a huge difference. I thought you did a great job with this.
