I am sure that for those imprisoned by cell bars of ice. They long to be paroled by the warming rays of Springtime sun, so that they may once again frolic among the gifts of nature's bountiful displays.

A very melodious poem. I particularly liked the reprise of 'spring' witout the indulgence of a direct refrain, and the idea of staying cozy inside whilst watching for spring to arrives (makes me think back to better winters than thi troubled one. kay

Thanks, Kay. I just came in from cutting wood up in back of our house. I didn't see any green grass and it was 15* F.

I'm clueless. How little is that in °C?

    That's about -10* C.

I love the picture you have chosen to illustrate this great entry for the two-line contest. Now that we are part way through January, we look forward to Spring.

This is a beautiful 2-stanza poem. I loved your rhyme scheme and perfect iambic tetrameter meter, ending each stanza with two words about spring. You chose a beautiful picture as well. This should place very high in the contest.

The photograph is well chosen and suggests the change of season. The poem too captures very well that moment of suspense waiting for grass to replace the snow!

Thanks, Sarah. The winter hasn't been too bad this year on the coast of Maine. I'm still anxious for spring.

This poem, Come Spring, places the reader at that hopeful point where the cold is tolerated because the promise of spring becomes more and more evident. Nice.

Thanks, Bill. I was outside for a few hours this morning. After working in the 15* F cold, I had to come inside and read this poem again.

How cute! It has me looking forward way too soon! Too bad you had to only use 2 stanzas. It would have taken to flight even more! It has a beautiful rhythm to me.

Excellent entry for the Two Stanza Poem writing prompt contest.

The rhymes don't sound forced and flow well.

The poem is well written with well chosen words that flow nicely.

The rich nature-imagery is very pleasant

Good luck in the contest.

Gypsy
