Wow, this is truly touching. The things people do to one another! I sincerely hope this is not biographical, but in case it is, I am so sorry to hear it, and I really DO understand the pain. Mine differs, of course, but I get it, Shirley. Well-written, my friend.

Thanks Dawn,
Sadly it is true and has impacted my life for my whole life.
I'm sure you've read some of my story in my book-Walk with Me posted on this site. This is where my journey to healing began and continues.
I'm sorry your life has also been impacted by heartache.
Blessings
Shirley

Oh, this was so sad. There are just too many children who suffer neglect and abuse. It breaks my heart.
Your presentation was perfect. The image and layout of your poem wonderful to read. Hugs, Lilly

This nonet, Sometimes Separations Last, has the proper formatting and suggests that the mother was less than honest about the absent father's flaws. Sad.
I found this: ...my father(')s love...
Happy day.

A beautiful representation of vulnerability. A short story that speaks volumes and resonates with a lot of us who have had fathers that were not who we needed them to be.
