As you said this becomes quite unfortunate.
The story flows well. The descriptions are blunt without being overly graphic. The language fits the story. The narrative stays on point.
Thanks for a good read.

"A Familiar Tapping"
As if a Hateful rapping.
This chapter was well written rich in theme and imagery.
It also, read well and flowed well with no grammar issues.
...
Complete Synopsis:
The Adjective and Objective Contents were both Excellent and Exceptional while Descriptive Measures Aligned Perfectly.
Thanks,

I wish I had a six star left for this one, Liz. You've done an excellent job of conveying the horror of all this. I'm so relieved to know Madeline is back with Cordelia.
One little bit of confusion: ...hat and white pants of all colors (are the pants white, or multi-coloured? :)

Thank you for your enthusiastic review. Just the fact you considered giving me a shiny 6 is enough. Good catch on the pants. I will need to review that.

You're most welcome, Liz. I'm home for the night, then have to leave again for the weekend with my kids. I'm glad I got to this one before it ran out. :)

I hope you are having a good summer. I'm going up to ,my friend's tomorrow, I used to work with her at the shelter in the 90's. It's nice we've stayed friends. Her family has become my family.

I've been away for the long weekend spending time with my kids and family. It was fun, but now I have a lot of work to do to catch up, again! lol I hope you had fun visiting your friend.
-
I did. I was so excited. I got to see 2 other friends, one since 3 month & the other, Em, 3 years. She only lives1/2 hour away from Linda's. I said to Em " do you see how easy this was?" Maybe she can get there again.
-
Glad to hear that, Liz. I had a good time with my family too. It was difficult to leave them again.

So much senseless violence. If you examine current times, it is obvious we have not progressed in almost 500 years. I'm glad Samuel/ Madeline escaped beheading. But will she remember the experience? Kate xx

Thank you for your enthusiastic review. You are so right about not much progression. This was about money which it still is today.

All I can say is WOW. This was terrifying, but it was by far the best one yet. I don't know how I feel, but I FEEL it. Thank you so much for sharing this, and best wishes to you once more.

Wow. Thank you for your enthusiastic review. It was difficult to write. I'm glad that came through.

This is an interesting chapter as Samuel is vortexed back into Madeline. He had the experience all the horror the monks felt as King Henry's edict was enforced, and Madeline had the joy of becoming herself again. I didn't know if you would be interested, but I have seen advertisement for a book called Murder on the Tor but Frances Eversham.

Truly amazing, Liz, definitely a great continuation chapter. What a way for Madeline to come back home to Cordelia. Such devastation for those of the monastery, Richard, John and Roger were to be hung and the rest of the brothers were to be beheaded. Madeline/Brother Samuel at the last minute put together the cause of the disturbance at Tor. Wow, this was truly amazing. Such violent actions.

Thank you for your enthusiastic review. Yes, that was a violent place. We felt it when we traveled there many years ago. My friend Sally Ann, the harpest, inner dowser and reader of past lives said about the 2 of us. We were here. We just knew from our reactive sensing. So I did more studying of the place in addition to the wall posting the horrible history of the place so decided to deviate my otherwise factual story.

Wow, that is amazing, Liz. It was truly wonderful and you are most welcome.

Hooray! Madeline came back to the current time! Whew! And we were spared the beheading! But the journey back into time was to show us the reason for the general feeling everyone had of that place. Whew!!
Comments:
the last abbot of Glastonbury. (Abbot?) felt like a title here
As if the Abbot stole money for himself. (This isn't a complete sentence. Is this just colloquial speech like "As if!" ? )
billowing voice of the lead soldier (bellowing)
Question:
Portions of this post are highlighted in white (I had thought to myself in this is such placid silent environment, ). Is there a special significance to the white highlighting?

Thank you for your observant appreciative review. I'm laughing at the expression 'billowing voice." I have to check out that white highlighting. Certainly unintended.

Samuel's inner journey continues. I had forgotten until I got into this chapter how dire had been the monks' straits. I hadn't realized it would be this bad, though.
A few thoughts, as I read:
At first all I saw was black boots [... all I saw WERE black boots.]
I saw this happen with first-time drug dealers. [Wouldn't it be good to have him mention it was from a later century?]
I had thought to myself in this is such placid silent environment, people kill each other where or rather when I'm from. [I'm sorry, Liz, but this sentence needs some real work. I'm not making heads nor tails of what he's trying to say.]
The executioner was making ready with his axe, [Now, starting with this paragraph and to the end of the chapter, your writing is sterling! You had my heart racing and pounding as loudly as Samuel's. What a dynamic chapter's end!
