Hi Liz
Your stories are always injected with humor. I enjoyed the poke at Bonnie & Clyde, those wild characters of banking fame.
Poor George. I don't envy him doing all those "chores". Perhaps he should just chuck the bird feeder, and topple the monster "ficus" tree. And (accidentally, of course) mow those thirsty plants down? Maybe its time to make the home...his. Put in a giant TV screen and a pool table!
My wife tends bird feeders that attract more pigeons and mourning doves than cardinals and chickadee-dee-dees. And I've planted so many perennials since moving to this garden home in the city! I have to be so careful every time I mow the lawn. And there's no way her closet will contain all the clothes she buys. Our bedroom is turning into a hoarder's nightmare!
Nicely penned, Liz, as usual. You always entertain!
Hugs,

POST YOUR STORY!
He is going to toss the bird feeder!

You do find stories everywhere. I am sure if you didn't bump into someone on a given day that you would create a very interesting
tale, from times past.

Martha and Clyde would come creeping into my mind as well! I love it when you do your "strike throughs"--(There's likely a grammatical word for that but I !missed class that day! ). Poor George... It must be hard to keep Bonnie us memory alive doing tasks that rattle him...

Glad you like the strikes. I avail myself of this feature as a device to poke fun at my foibles.

The strikes always crack me up! (Plus, as an added bonus I have not a clue how to do that on my keyboard!)

Did you intend to leave the crossed out name Martha in your story? It is a bit confusing. Otherwise, I think this is another of your superb writings. You mix both pathos and humor with such style! :-)

Yes! I intended to show how I continually mess up the associations. I often do this sort of crossing out as a device to poke fun at my foibles.

Hi my friend,
I imagine it would if inevitable that the loss of one's partner results in the gain of their savings as well as their lowly tasks.

George is a good man and adds to your marvellous collection of great anecdotes about people. Your ability to attract very quirky people and become a people magnet is most commendable Liz, well done, blessings Roy

People have lots of different ways of dealing with situations. If he dislikes the chores that much he should just get rid of it, but maybe he likes the memories better.

I enjoyed reading your story. I caused me to laugh. My husband swears he can't get to bed at a decent hour because of all the plant watering. I told him to start earlier and he thought that was crazy.
I needed witnesses in the event I were arrested for dumping the trash I'd collected: (I is the noun, so it should be 'was' not 'were'.)

I used WERE for subjunctive.

Well, Liz, his story is sad. I'm sorry for his loss. I wish he could see the little birds in a positive light. Maybe he could donate the plant, too. You did a good job with this poignant story.
Respectfully, Jan

This is a simple one. Get rid of the bird feeder and kill the damn plants if they aren't a happy reminder of Bonnie. And if they are to some extent, then shut the hell up, clean the window, mop up what he can, and treat the plants like Bonnies watching. Which is she probably is: thinking what a lazy old bastard George is. LOL. Sorry, I just couldn't help myself. Thanks for sharing.
