Yes, and sacrificing for somebody else to live.

Once an area becomes arid; it eventually becomes barren.
Because there's no vegetation, because there's no water; to hold the surfaces down; following with
the process between Night and Day.
At this point the heat of the Sun.
Yes, puts an extreme amount of abuse upon the remaining exposed rocks.
Thus breaking them and then again, eventually breaking the pieces even more and More smaller fragments.
And, then to winds spread them out in flat as well as dunes known as........
"Desert Sand"
And, this is how a desert is formed.
