I'm sure their alibis will have to be checked out. Not everyone has accounted for where they were and I'm sure in the ensuing chapters we will see where that leads. The meat of the story will soon appear, I am sure.

The play goes on with a decidedly mirthful tone as the murdered man doesn't seem to have affected anyone other than Corrine. Barry and Arlo are definitely the comedy relief.

I found this: I know he'd (have) wanted me to ...

Happy day.

Thanks so much for your review, and I'm glad you visited the Murder at the Melodrama. A lot of the people there are covering up something, so that's got to come out. judi

This was a great continuation script. It provided the alibies of everyone present, although some were sketchy. You provided a great deal of suspense and mystery. It definitely made me think as I read. Very much enjoyed, well done.

Hello Judi.

Now all the players are together and they are all working on their alibis. I'm sure that in the minds of most of them it's no big deal because they are sure of where they were and it was nowhere near the murder. There might be an alibi or two in there that doesn't make sense. That seems plausible. I'm waiting for the police to come and ask direct questions. That should be interesting.

You've done a great job of setting the stage for this murder mystery, judi. And you're developing the characters and their attitudes well.

Just a couple of spags that I found: "I know he'd had(should be have) wanted me to..."
"Gale: Whe(n) I spoke to him on the phone, ..."

Thanks for your review and comments. And thanks for noting those spags. (I sometimes have trouble seeing them.) I think I've corrected them by now. Have a great Fourth of July. judi

I would think the police would go directly to the crime scene and not the theater. Am I confused on the setting? Anyway, I am enjoying reading this.

Whe I spoke to him on the phone, he said he was looking for a quiet retreat because he wanted to get started on his latest writing project. (When???)

Thanks so much for your review and comments. It was in the first scene that Corrine runs in and says she'd found the body in the lobby of the theatre. The second scene may have confused you because they were discussing his movements when he arrived at the B&B. That was the evening before the murder. judi

Hello Judi. You have done a good job with this scene. The dialogue is very good and the setting, characters, and tension have all been well established. Great job on this descriptive piece.

Some the alibis seem a little shaky. What a terrible thing to happen. Being the first guest makes it doubly so.

-was [our] first guest

-Whe[n] I spoke to him on the phone

Thanks so much for your review and comments. Remember that in Midsomer Murders, Barnaby always complained that his suspects were all lying. Have an excellent Fourth of July. judi

Well, everyone does have an alibi. I wouldn't think any of them would have a motive to kill the man. I wonder why Corrinne didn't call the sheriff first but went to the theatre first?

Typos:
Harvey Patterson was out first guest. (our)
Whe I spoke to him on the phone, (When)

I think I confused people. He was murdered in the lobby of the theatre. Don was trying to figure out what had happened at the B&B from the time Patterson arrived at the inn. Or could he have been killed at the cottage and moved to the lobby? Thanks for your review and comments and have a great Fourth of July. judi

I love a good mystery, especially a cozy.

Poor Harvey Patterson was out first guest. [Probably already pointed out to you.]

Gale: Whe I spoke to him on the phone, [Another twitch of the finger]

Arlo: Here come the fuzz! Here comes the fuzz! [Did you want "come" the first time and "comes" the second?]

Wow, with that many suspects, it's gonna be hard to keep them straight.

Thanks so much for your review and comments. Indicates my vision problems. There aren't really that many suspects. Maybe it just seems like a lot. Enjoy the Fourth of July. judi
