a sweet symphony
to lull maiden to dream of
faraway places

We can imagine her preferring to seek our joy in distant places, and letting go of any fear of danger.

The ibis, a lovely red bird sits on the shoulder of a young maiden where swept up in the moonlight and night creatures songs causes the maiden to dream of far away places where the ibis flies among other pretty maidens. Format and art work are well chosen and fits the syllable count of the 5/7/5/7/5/7/5/7/7.

Another fine poem, Gypsy--and you sure didn't choka penning this one--ahh, ha, ha! Woo, I'm all over that joke like a tarp covering an old car up on blocks in the neighbor's front yard! I'll shut up now!

I'm looking at that red bird and it's not a heron. Herons have straight beaks. I think that's a South American scarlet ibis. I really loved the middle part of the poem: "swept up by silver moonlight
onto wishful sky
where creatures of the night sing
a sweet symphony"
That really describes a beautiful, fantasy scenery.

Thank you, Helen. Erica told me it's an scarlet ibis and I changed it.

You are presenting a series of very beautiful images in this posting. The dreamy mood of the poem goes well with the accompanying picture that accents the message. It is an interesting form and I liked learning about it from your notes. Thank you for sharing!

This truly is dreamy, and see exotic birds flying in the silver moonlight is a dreamland that one might want to visit for a while.

Much enjoyed this Choka, and many thanks for sharing. :)

I love this poem! The syllable count is great and I think it flows very well from line to line. The topic is unique and interesting. Very creative! Love it. Have a great weekend.

This is so pretty. It transported me to another world where girls swim in moonlight and hang out with exotic birds, which sounds perfect to me.

I don't know if it really matters or if you care at all, but the bird in the picture is an ibis. Specifically a scarlet ibis. I feel like the poem would be equally as lovely if you decided to change the bird name to go with the picture. I'm a wildlife biologist, so I feel required to say something about it. Even if no one cares, lol.

Have a great night.

-Nice artwork and
presentation, Gypsy.
-A well written poem
with effective imagery
and a good topic.
-I like how it is in two
parts; the little red heron
is lured by the moonlight
to sing, then the maiden is
lulled to sleep by the song
"to dream of faraway places."
-Well done.
