Hmm, actually many people will say that the issue is complicated and so is the solution, if there is a humane one. The truth is we all there is no humane solution. The only real fix is to do the inhumane. The parents, traffickers, and we the people, all know we don't have the will to do that.

A poignant write and this is like the US are opening their doors to anyone who wants a home and I can't see it ending anytime soon. Socialists always spend money they don't have and the bank will be broke very soon, I so agree with your words here Alicia, it is totally crazy, bring back Trump! He wanted to close the borders and Biden wants them open! Love Dolly x

It is a controversial situation that no one seems to have the answers to, Alicia. Your free verse poem covers many aspects of our society--esp the illegals we the citizens now have to support. Your lines read well with good imagery. WooHoo--done and done!

It's so hard to understand the mindset of those parents. They feel they have no hope or future so they send their children paying "coyotes" huge sums of money which they can't really afford in order for their children to have a future. But you're right that it costs our government money. Somehow, there has to be a better way to handle this. Meanwhile, it's the "coyotes" who are profiting by making money from the parents and their misplaced hopes.

It's so hard to understand the mindset of those parents. One of the things I agree with deeply, is the welcoming of people, who are escaping a substandard life, or indeed, persecuted and other deprivations. These children are still children, and we are part of this world, deserving of being cared for, so well done. Blessings Roy
