Interesting and sure it I s an old their curve. Not knowing who you get could be very frustrating. No spags noted. The quoted lingo adds more to the poem.

Thanks for this great review old mate. For some reason, this review is not clearing from the index. Hopefully, this will fix that.

An interesting poem about how things have changed due to the pandemic. I have mobility issues myself so I can relate, it's too bad that we can't get back to the way it was a year ago. Thanks for sharing, I'll check out your book. :)

Thanks, new friend. I do appreciate your review and it is good you relate. I am on a walker myself now. There is a poem about Wally the Walker in Geoff's Musings if interested.

I like your poem about taxis and wheelchair taxis. I'm not disabled but I can't walk long distance... it's hard. I hate to hold back my family when we go out. In Disneyland I rent an electric scooter. I think your poem has good information for some people. Well done.
Vehicles everywhere
With nothing to do.
**(Close of) businesses and schools **CLOSE OFF
To kill it all dead (repetitious.....kill and dead.....you can't kill alive)

Geoff,
Wow! I didn't even know that was a possibility. How awesome! I don't think I've ever seen anything like that in the States, but probably because I live in a wee town. Very cool. TY!

Thanks Robyn. I am sure the wheel chair taxis are around. If there are handicapped folks maybe their families look after their transport.

This poem, Change, speaks to one of the many upsets caused by the pandemic. It's too bad when a method of operation runs well but gets screwed up.

Thanks Bill for coming by. Your review is appreciated. Need to get to your stuff so many new people reviewing I have not met but I know we are fans of each other.

Life is not easy for those depending on wheelchair transport. So much better if you have a consistent group of drivers who know your individual needs, and become friends, people who care, rather than just drivers doing a job. Best wishes.

Hi Wendy. Thanks for the understanding review. We miss them all especially Ahmad the kindest and most caring of all of them. COVID messed things up terribly.

This was beautifully done. And so sad. Yes, Covid, like the worst of wars, changed the world and lives forever. Many businesses closed down. So many people died. I loved how you described your crew.
Great imagery and visuals here, a wonderful writing.
Thank you so much for sharing. Let's pray for better times ahead.

Amen on that! Who knows when COVID will get lost! Thanks so much for the lovely review. I had another version of this, but I lost it. Cheers.

Yes, COVID has upset a lot of things. Making sure the handicapped can get to their appointments is so important, pandemic or not. I'd never given thought to how the taxi drivers had been impacted. Where I live, lots of people have their shots and restrictions have been eased, thank goodness. Things are definitely not going to be the same. You'll have to accept your situation as it is, and be glad if you can still get a ride, although it may not be with your favored driver. judi

Thanks Judi you are right on all of that. COVID has ruined so many relationships. I had another version of this but lost it. This one has a LOT more detail. Cheers.

You're very welcome. I hate losing a bit of writing. Good or not, you can always use it. judi

You pay tribute to your drivers in your words. They are important people and do a necessary job. Excellent use of words and poetic form to create a clear scene.

Thanks new friend. So many of you new folks I have to check out. This poem has generated heaps more. We had such a wonderful relationship with many drivers. Ahmad (Bakaarrt) was the source of ten more drivers over time as he could not always come for us. Sadly he has gone now for whatever reason. I suggest looking at the link to the chapter in my biography for a lot more detail of how we met Ahmad and all his other contacts. We became very close to him and we are so sad he has quit driving. Appreciate your review.
Comment from Dolly'sPoems
It is good to have regular drivers as you begin to trust them and it is a pity that everything has changed, but that is life, nothing stays the same, a poignant write, love Dolly x

Hi Dolly! YES! Spot on! It is just that us older folks find change so much harder. We were very close to Ahmad in particular he is the one got us all the other drivers. He quit for some reason he would not tell us...none of our business I guess. If you heck that link to the particular chapter in my autobiography there is more on how we met Ahmad etc. Thanks so much for coming along.
