Lovely story if you visit to the friends mountain cabin in the woods. It is a time to reflect the wonderful time had with your friends. Bet seeing was terrific looking and enjoying the mountain side.

Yes, it was fun to remember those days. I keep in touch with them and went to visit their old cabin still standing in the forest. I hope all is well with you, keep safe and happy dear, cheers, j

This true story is very well written and needs no editing that I can see. I enjoyed it and could picture the cabin. You have great descriptive wording. Good luck in the contest. Thank you for sharing us a little bit of Vermont.

Jud,
It certainly sounds amazing. *smile* I wish you'd told a bit more about the hosts - man? woman? couple? etc.
The other parts were so fun to imagine!
Notes:
1.) Captain Bob and I had pulled up at our friend's rustic
--> just used 'pulled up'
2.) It was that once in a lifetime magical.
--> It was one of those once-in-a-lifetime magical moments.
Thanks!

You need the deets. haha. Captain Bob and I just build my cabin, not far from Buck Hill and it was freezing, so we decided to visit our new friends. Chip and Nancy had two kids, a young girl and boy that looked like a little Chip. Gentle hippies, self sufficient and they taught us alot about living off the grid.
They bought a steel Dutch boat and followed our island routes a couple years later.
Nancy lives in Hawaii now, Chip has died. She came back to Vermont for a couple summer not long ago and stayed right next to my cabin with my neighbor, also an old friend.
That time with the storm, horse, laughing so hard and night romping is one of my favorite memories.
Cheers, j
