Ooooo... I do like the catastrophic feel to this one... one might almost be inclined to read more into it than just the imagery... hmmm. ;) Thanx for sharing, Gypsy! ;) Yvette

Hi Gypsy,
I enjoyed your Haiku poem. I count 5-7-5 syllables and the theme is nature. A storm has blown all night long on American Lake. But now it's passed. A complete turnaround.
I've got a wee suggestion, not that there's anything wrong with your poem as is. I'm just inspired to write it with a slight change,
"after wicked storm
rolled through American Lake -"
(sunrise split the dawn)
So is a Renga the original Haiku?
Hugs,
Kimbob

Renga is older than haiku. The first stanza in renga eventually became haiku.
Thank you very much for your excellent review and kind feedback.

There is always an ambient calm after a storm and coupled with a sun rise, we see a fresh day emerge on the lake, a fine write creating a warm day break for the reader, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

It's funny we tend to think in weather.as being intrusive, and if it's bad, we think that it had been here longer than it has. Beautifully written Gypsy, great poetic expression, blessings Roy

I have to award you the sixth star for this exceptional post. The wicked storm wreaked havoc but nature will make all well. We only have to trust in the power of Divine Order and move forward in faith.
Stay safe and blessed

A very well-written 5-7-5 poem and a great addition to the multi-author Renga book. After a severe storm the calmness in the atmosphere can be felt deeply when you look outside and see life still goes on.

Wow, I love the image and I know your poem is about the greatness of nature, but somehow I feel that your intention is different after the storm of the election people are expecting the calm to take over. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.

After every storm, there will be a new dawn. The darker the night, the brighter the sunrise will be. Just wait with anticipation -instead of anxiety.

Comment from Gloria ....
Ha, excellent imagery here, Gypsy. The calm after a storm is always more reassuring than the calm before the storm, although storms can be so stormy there is a lot of damage to clean up.
Beautiful artwork and presentation. I hope all is well with you. :)
