I know it's probably late for the contest but a good moral would have been, "be careful what you wish for," just a thought. Good luck in the contest. Very nice job. Stay safe and stay healthy.

Thank you for the great review, Earl. Yeah, I thought about having that as the moral but what they were actually getting is what they were wishing for. I appreciate the generous stars and congrats on the win. Have a good one.

well, that is indeed an original fable - actually it leaves me speechless.
However your picture that you created is great and I'd love to know how you did it - if you don't mind going to the trouble to tell me.
I'm just hoping the shark doesn't eat the little boy. :)
good luck in the contest.

Hey, Pome Lover, hi. There's actually a lot of work in this picture. I have an art program that you can download from the internet for free. It's called GIMP. That's what I use for all my pictures. First, I found the picture of the monkey I wanted to use on Google Images. Copy and pasted it to my files so I can bring it up in GIMP.
Then searched for a violin. Then pasted it, sized it, rotated it and moved it to where it was going to go. Then I erased the human face and the background off of the violin picture. The picture was actually cut off at the top so I had to add more to it by duplicating the pic then turning it and adding and erasing to make it look right. Then I found the picture of the bow and erased everything that was around that. Resized it, moved it, changed the color a little and added a drop shadow atop the violin so it looked like it belonged in the picture. Next, went and found a pic of the audience at Carnegie Hall. Resized it and put it where I wanted it. Moved that layer (This is all done in numerous layers) then erased the background that was behind the monkey. After all that's done, it looks like the pictures of the monkey was just pasted there. So that's where the 'smudge' tool comes into play. I went all around the monkey, smudging in and out to make it look like it's really there rather than just a picture pasted there. Once I had it done, the monkey's eyes didn't quite have the look of someone getting into the music. Its eyes were wide open. So I painted over the eyes to make it look like its lids where low like this, to make it look like he's getting into it more. Lol. And there you go. That's how I did it. That's how I do most of my pictures. I usually can't find the exact pic I'm looking for, so I create one. It's not easy finding a picture of a monkey playing violin at Carnegie Hall. Haha

Thank you for the excellent review and stars, Pome Lover. I'm glad you liked this silly piece. Have a great day.

Bless your heart for going to all that trouble. I had no idea it would be so detailed and time consuming. You really did a great job with it!
And thanks for letting me know about GIMP. I might have to try it.
After all the trouble you went to with this post, I wish you luck.

Yes, download Gimp. I don't remember if Gimp has its own site or not but I think so. If not, I'm sure you can easily find it with a simple "Free Gimp Download" search. Once you learn all the little tricks, it gets pretty easy. It bugs me how the site doesn't center the pictures anymore on poetry posts. With Gimp, I can fix that and have them all centered. If you get it and need any help, let me know and I'll try my best to help.

This was a fun read that made me chuckle. Your illustration, of course, pairs perfectly. Your moral of "no moral" is unique. Good luck in the contest.
