This is a horror deluxe entry for the Halloween Horror Haiku writing prompt. It should do well in the contest. I wish you the best of good luck!

This was a brilliant Halloween haiku. The word "virus" brings up the Covid 19 which is everyone's lips. Excellent imagery, visuals and outstanding presentation and pictures.
Thanks for mentioning Dean Kuch. I was a big admirer of his talent and his big generous heart. I was away from site for almost 3 years when he died. It was a shock to me, and I hope he is at a place now where is no pain.
Good luck in the contest, love, Muse

Thank you very much for your review and kind words and six stars! I miss Dean, especially when I write horror haiku. We co-authored a horror haiku book. He was an excellent writer and friend.

Hi Gypsy,
I enjoyed your entry for the Halloween Horror Haiku contest. It would certainly scare anyone to death if they came upon a zombie feasting on its victim's entrails.
You've connected zombies with a virus... timely with Halloween right around the corner. That's the trouble with viruses... they mutate, always trying to be better than the previous version. Corona has certainly done that.
I don't know a lot about Haiku poetry, and normally I stay out of these contests because there are just too many rules. And the Haiku police are always watching. Maybe you know... are just the first two lines supposed to be connected? or can all three lines be connected, as you have done here?
If only the first two lines are supposed to be connected, you could easily fix it by writing "turns us into flesh eaters".
But if all three lines can be connected, then I would suggest a hyphen for "flesh eating" ... (flesh-eating)
Good Luck in the contest! You certainly have nailed Halloween Horror.
Cheers,
Kimbob

Thank you very much for your review and helpful feedback. I changed it to flesh eaters-- and a dash.

This Halloween haiku, Mutated Virus, has the right set up and definitely reminds this reader of our gone but still haunted by friend Dean Kuch. You are certainly filling that void, Gypsy.

Urgh! This is definitely a horrific thought and image, well expressed.
Your poem reminded me of Dean's writings - I miss him. Then I see you mentioned him in your notes. He lives on.

A very well-written scary Halloween horror haiku. The virus mutating and we all become flesh eating zombies. Who may be the last one standing to claim victory.

This is cool I'm not gonna lie. If I wasn't in the contest, I would definitely vote for this one. I like the animated picture, it gives me chills. When I was 11 years old my sister took me to the drive in movie to see Night Of The Living Dead. I haven't been the same since. Lol. Best of luck in the contest...I really mean that! :)
