Your poetic talent rivals ... oh well, anyone who has the panache to broadside that bleached-blond-comb-over posterior orifice gets a fiver from me.
If the choice is between Don and Hillary, I vote Straight Green.

Thank you, and, as a Democrat, and a liberal one, my beliefs are more towards Sanders, but I also want to win, so I'll go with Clinton!
-
The logic of relating "I want to win" to a heinous candidate like Hillary is beyond my ken.
-
Well, you're entitled to your opinion, but what if she's the nominee--ae you going to vote for Trump, or whomever, just because you don't like her? Or not vote, which is just what the Republicans want? I'm telling you, with the extreme views of the Republicants, we're ALL going to be sorry!
-
I thought I mane it clear. I intend to vote straight Green.
We can survive a four-year presidency with just about anyone ... Hell, we survived Bush/Cheney for eight years ... how can anyone be more dangerous than that as President?
-
I guess I don't know what you mean about Green.
-
There is an American political party named "The Green Party". A sustainable-resources organization.
-
Oh, I guess I know they exist, but I don't know much about them, sorry.

Dear Mike. I love the artwork. It was a great choice for your poem. I really enjoyed your poem. The end rhymes were great. Donald Trump gives me comedy relief sometimes. :) I do wish all the other people had his passion. LOL I live in a gun crazy state. Oklahoma, although I do not own one myself. We do not have as many drive by shootings as many states but I think people here just take it for granted that most people are 'packing' even though they are probably not. :) Thanks for sharing your poem. Great job, Shirley

Thank you much, Shirley, for the 6 rating--and don't confuse 'passion' for 'ego'! Lord, the man must have trouble staying on his feet, his head's so gigantic. To me, the whole gun thing is absolutely INSANE!
-
Dear Mike, you are so right the gun thing is insane. I have a friend that her purses made just so her pistols will fit. No lie! I'm just not into it. Have a great night, Shirley

I swear, guns are the love of some people's life, over people!

Wow. I have to admit, it was the artwork that drew me in - terrorist activity and the writing about it - I guess I grapple with the insanity of zealots, and hope for some glimmer of light in commiserating with like-minded people.
I'm so glad that artwork attracted me because this is an awesome commentary on the state of your nation (and in many ways, mine). Your use of end rhyme is very effective, but it's the powerful word choices that create the overall provocative message - wonderful. I hope you publish (and soon)!

Thank you much, Dawn--I too look for hope and like-minded people--sometimes, if you watch cable news, both are hard to find, well, not so much the anti-Trumpers, but definitely hope!

Too true! You're very welcome.

I love this poem, and the clear message for all to hear. I love the way you build to a crescendo at the end. My favorite two lines are the last two. I, too, fear for the American dream. Because, like you say, he is just a symptom of a much larger problem with this country. He is so infamous that we all know who you are talking about without ever mentioning his name. How sad. Thank you for speaking what so many of us are thinking. I fear for the results of the coming election. Thanks for sharing your talent and thoughts with me.
Peace, Jesse James

It was my pleasure.

This is a timely poem that paints Trump as a dummy and a showboat. The fact he's leading can only be smoke and mirrors unless we are all nuts and this is actually happening.

Thank you, Bill, and I too can't believe it, but it's really happening!

You did a remarkable write. To keep the rhyme scheme
so consistent for a long piece is so skillful. I applaud
your position but if Donald gets ahold of it, you will
be tweeted into oblivion. (Just kidding here.) I too
wonder what the world thinks of us. I have an adopted
brother who lives in Holland and he is asking the same
questions. -Bill

Thanks, U-94, and I've been expecting to be driven into the ground with negative reviews, but so far, at least, it has been surprisingly positive!

Your poem is simple and smooth flowing though the theme is quite complex and tough. I do not know what the country is thinking; I only know from the past that some buffoons get the media spotlight from time to time. Shockingly, a few of them are chosen by vote to rule. Perhaps, voters throw up their hands in despair as they consider themselves as mere spectators in a show where they cannot do much about the show going on.

Thank you, scd41, and I think you're right, sometimes they are elected, and if that is the case this time, God help us all!

So glad there's somebody out there with some common sense. If he gets in, it would be a very sad day for America. How has it even gotten this far? Can't understand how someone like this can even have a small chance. God Bless America, and please people, think what this man is initiating.
Well written.

Sigh! I fear you are in the minority here, Mike. The Donald caters to the radical thinkers - the radicals, the gun-toting shoot first and ask questions later crowd. The scariest thing is that he seems to be running away in the poles. What are these people thinking?
I thought to insult one of your contrymen by taunting him with the possibility of Donald Trump for President. Now, he's probably laughing up his sleeve, unaware of the dangers the man presents. I think I'll just go to bed and pull the covers over my head. The boogie man is on the loose.
Well done, Mike. It's a thinking man's poem. I'm just glad there are still a few of you guys still out there!

Thanks, Adrianne, I sure hope you're wrong, and think you may be--the media loves him, because he makes the ratings go up, thereby allowing them to charge more money for commercial time, so they talk him up. I personally am with you, he's dangerous, and I hope he doesn't get away with what he's trying to do, become president. If I'm wrong, and he succeeds, we're all in trouble!
