I think it's wonderful that you're are this week's biblical story-teller, Brooke!
"Zerubbabel"--I haven't heard of this Old Testament character--I like the concept of incorporating two ancient friends with two friends of today;
Interesting about the ship that didn't sail--sometimes the best friendships remain anchored also.
Thank you for sharing a well-penned story-in-a-poem. I greatly enjoyed your tale.

Oh Brooke what a cute story. I can just hear you telling this story to your vacation bible school kids. I know they will love it. You are such a talented storyteller. Best of luck in the contest, Shirley

Hi Brooke, it just goes to show how we learn something new every day,(Zerubbabel) especially her on Fanstory. It is a delightful poem with a positive message in it.
As usual Sawyer looks great along with his friend Aaron.

Good luck in the contest. Mary

Brooke, what a delightful poem. Too bad Zee and Tee
couldn't give in a little. They might have had quite
an adventure. Love the picture of Sawyer and Aaron.

I laughed when I read that name, I thought it was another one of your wonderful made up names. Then, reading your authors notes, I see it's from the Bible. I have never seen or heard of it. We used to have stories told us when I went to children's Sunday school, a less daunting place for children to learn about Jesus, I loved it. But I never heard this name mentioned or the story.
I enjoyed this story in a poem, it tells children not to be so stubborn and use some give and take or you won't get anywhere in this world. I great way of telling it, Brooke. Good luck in the contest. :) Sandra

Thanks so much, Sandra. Actually, I've never made up any of the names I use other than combining first, middle and last names. And they're almost all Biblical :-) I appreciate your insightful comments :-) Brooke

Hi Brooke - Oh this is a good one. Not just amusing and very well told but there is a message here - need for agreement, cooperation and understanding. Tell it to the politicians they are in need of advice. I thought you were clever making up that name, till I read your author notes. A good read. Kind regards Dorothy x

Dorothy, thank you so very much :-) I agree, far too many adults act just like this, and many of them politicians :-) Brooke

I love this tell it in a story form poem. I like the theme and the content done with a smooth run. One good lesson to learn in this story though is "can two walk together unless they agree?" Zerubbabel and Tobias though had lofty ideas but could not achieve because they disagreed. Nicely done

This is yet another interesting and delightful poem that the author has created with this piece of writing. I like a good old sea tale myself and the picture is a treat.

Wow Brooke, this is another stunning and beautiful poem obviously aimed at the younger reader, I wonder, are you quietly creating a children's book of poems? we must wait and see.

Indicative of a child's indecision, I can picture the entire event in my mind's eye. Who is the other boy in the picture, by the way? They appear to be having a good time.

Thanks so much, Gargantuan - the other boy is Aaron, Sawyer's best guy buddy over for a play date :-) Brooke
