Hi Art, This is beautiful, and full of lovely imagery. I hope I understand it as to its meaning. This reads as if the narrator is talking to one who is depressed, and/or given up on himself and others -- even life. I know the feeling.
This is so well written, with no spag. It flows well although I'm not sure it is poetry or just a short piece of prose written with deep feeling. Which ever it is, it is a great work.

This is an excellent plea, and I see that it is listed as non fiction. You have my best hopes.
I found one phrase that strikes me as wrong: "the path you've wandered away from is only temporary." I don't think this says what you want it to. I believe that you want to say, "Your lost state is temporary," but it doesn't come out like that.
