Powerful and moving, the words were well chosen. I liked the rhythm and flow and think you have represented your message well. On a side note, your commentary at the end is also very well written...I would love to see it spell-checked and posted as non-fiction piece/commentary.
Well Done!

Spell checked? Huh! I have fixed the errors. I decided to post this poem and usually include the piece with that. Because of its importance I posted it very high and at this time the cost is sacrifice for me. If I just post the notes alone, it would be much lower and people wouldn't see it to read it. I can't do both I am afraid. Thank you for taking an interest in this piece, your compliments and the review.

Terrorism, the word of the day for some, for the terrorist is joy.
It's so difficult to understand why these people choose death as the means to communicate their feelings.
I also believe they use religion as an excuse to kill.
I don't believe any religion promotes killing as a means to conquer or get people on your side. Of course, I'm not familiar with the Moslem religion, but I don't believe it promotes killing.
We must blame the people, not religion.
I can go and on but I get so angry, so many innocent lives lost and the world doesn't get any better.

Your poem and your notes are excellent. Certainly make us think how to end terrorism and make those people believe that the "Martyr" only brings more hate.

Have a nice day,
Ana

In my attempt for a certain, Mutton biryani recipe I had to learn to cook Halal, think of it as a Muslim form of Kosher cooking. Needless to say, I was at time a burden upon them. My favorite was a Palestinian man, who would preach that Islam is a religion of peace and no vice. He did loose land in the 60's the result of the after math of the six day war. He would become angry and said that the terrorists had every right to send rockets into Israel. I learned how to make my point, "I understand and figured you would say that. I ranged your house and it is 900ft from mine. I can legally build rockets that can travel 2,500 ft. I do not believe that you would at all enjoy me firing them at your house." He said that he would call the police and I replied, my house is called the Jehad House." By who he asked, "The Police!" not believing he said, "What!" I explained that over the last year I had several death threats and threats to my property and they act the same as the United Nations. If anything, they make it worse. He asked what happened and I mentioned that the problems were solved with a tomohawk and a bowie. When word got out I was crazy and willing to die, the problem stopped. But were are talking defense.

Muslims have their misconceptions about Christianity and in a way, I couldn't dispute them, but mentioned that most Christians aren't like that. They too form their opinion from what they hear on TV. I start the understanding with, "I believe in one God. The father, the almighty..." They have never heard this. Most Muslims that I encounter are very virtueous people, though understandably standoffish from a life time of oppression of opinion and the hatred that they feel is dished out to them. I'm not sure if we can end terrorism, but to surpress it with that intention, the entire world needs to be vigilant and responsive and afford no quarter.

Thank you very much for your compliments and review. I enjoyed the thoughtfulness that went into it.

Wow Mike. This was a very heavy thought provoking piece.
Your author's notes were extensive and enlightening as well.
To imagine what they feel and think before they choose to kill as many as possible to become a martyr was quite powerful.

Wow! What a review, I was able to write this because I too lived that mindset of misplaced greatness at the age of thirteen, after quite a few fists from adults, I realized they were right. It took only one bad act on my part to realize the evil of my ways as a much cherished family moved away. I lost the opportunity to apologize and make amends, but I made up for it as I was always quick to help out and serve after that. Generally we took things awayas not to cause harm.

I read the articles and maybe the holy spirit inspired this clarification. In fact, in showing a priest this poem today. He said that this piece couldn't be more pertinent as the Catholic Church lost a priest that was assanated outside of his church in Iraq while still wearing his vestments. I will note this in the piece soon, he got much less press if any at all. But needless to say, another priest will move to take his place.

Thank you very much for your compliments and beautiful review.

Ever the world will be in conflict, or war because one man believes differently from another. Allah, and God, are the same man. Yet, the children of God ever squabble about who daddy likes best. Christians, Jews, and the followers of Islam are all brothers. It is only when we 'get' that that we can end the bickering and war. Perhaps it is because we share a common Father, yet know not a mother that we are lost. Mary was the mother of Jesus - not mankind. I liked your piece. But as Westerners, we will never understand, much less be included in the mind set of those from the Middle East.

I have met so many good people in different religions, that I have met many men and woman of God, I only know this by a feeling and the way that they are. I believe in on God, so why so many religions? Possibly because different peoples have different needs. But I believe that sometimes the religion may become more important then God. That is I feel the main reason that Jesus came to us and that we must remain vigilant with seeing that as well.

Thank you so much for your compliments and this review.

We will do what it takes!
Inflicting terror that
you will never know, when or
where it will come about!
We will capture the media's
attention and lull them into
believing, this injustice handed
to us, of which we shout!

So sad and so true...we claim so many things in the name of religion, without really understanding the nature of God...thank you for your powerful poem, jen

Plan and conspire, get angry
and frustrated people aboard,
for this grand ride. ... People will celebrate me!
Martyr!

a rief stent into your idea, getting into the mind of what a martyr maybe has in mind in his/her journey of destruction, good reading script of your thinking.
