It seems a sad twist of fate that humans, supposedly the pinnacle of God's creation, should be the cause of its potential demise. We are so well equipped to do better as a species.

Yeah Linda. It must be so hard for the native animals to find food these days knowing their natural habitat is slowly being destroyed giving them no alternative but to hunt for food in the suburbs which were ironically built and formed after the trees were cleared for these sprawling subdivisions.
nice write and very topical

I totally agree with you, Linda. I believe it is normally the well to do for whom trees are cleared for new development. Waste and sloth just like my poem from last night. Thank you so much for posting this

Dear Linda, this is a poem about the tragic plight of wild life with no homes left to retreat to. So they "invade" man's domain and pay a heavy price for doing so. The bear looks intent in its search for food, and my heart goes out to it. It's just like the kangaroos and koalas that come into the suburbs of the city to find food and water here in Australia. Destruction of habitat is as mindless as it is greedy. We must allow some places to remain untouched for the animals or the will not survive. This is a world wide problem, from the Orang Utangs of Indonesia to the Polar Bears of the Arctic Circle. I commend your words my dear, well done well said cheers Cass

Hi Cass, your review just broke my heart...I didn't know how far it has gone...but it is because of greed...and it makes me sick to know these poor animals walk around hungry...when years ago the forest were more than enough food for them...everything is being killed out...if these damn plastic bags aren't killing off the sea life...then people are working on the wildlife on land...I get so mad...thank you so much my sweet friend for all your lovely stars...and your wonderful review...God Bless...and love you...Linda xxoo

I like the message of environmental awareness. The photo provides a peek into the depth of a short, but effective piece. You pulled a lot of emotion from me in just a few words. Your author's notes offer more clarity into your inspiration here. This was a good piece. Well done!

Man has a lot to answer for and we have no respect for wild life at times. Your words here highlight the problem and your poem resonating with me, love Dolly x
