To me writing is something that has an element of compulsion. If I have an idea for a story or poem it won't leave me alone until I get it on paper. That being said, the other component is the time to dwell on the idea, develop it, present it. So having the time to indulge writing as a hobby is a necessity. It sounds like you are at a stopping point in your writing, but I think you'll find it's probably a pause rather than an end.

John, try to remember, somewhere in your home you have a trophy that validates your strengths and technical abilities. The general apathy comes over us all, especially if we go no further than FS. I know you have grandchildren, and perhaps you will consider writing them each their own book. I did that for Aiden, my oldest boy and did full colour glossy 15 copied cost me $300 and I did it at a print shop.
You may have noticed I'm not posting often. Sometimes I feel I have nothing to say, and then when I do, I often offend someone. It is ebb and flow, but you will ALWAYS be a writer. ingrid

I just returned after taking a couple years off. Like you, I depleted my member dollars, but I had a few along with some pots of gold and leprechaun banners remaining. They came in handy when I came back.
Maybe, you should leave a little behind -- the inspiration might return.
