Ha ha..I can only imagine, the willing man suddenly got a call from his wife. Your words definitely make the attached picture. I hope her ego isn't harmed because she's a beauty for the single man. Good luck and thanks for sharing.

Interesting poem with a picture that is sure to please a lot of the male writers here...And, similar to the title reads, does leave me the reader, truly baffled, & maybe, a sequel is in order..Like Where did this, he, escape to?

Nicely written tanka about how sudden lose of love makes you doubt everything about yourself. This women seems sad and intensely thoughtful. I think she looks lost more than confident.

Hello Mark Schardine,
Nice piece of poetry transparently depicting the protagonist's inner feelings!
Wording is simple as well as impressive.
Smooth flow with its own rhythm and lively imagery.
Picture enhances beauty of the poem.
Excellent!

Thank you for your review. Rightly you say transparent. Nothing is hidden.

Almost an oxymoron; good looking woman left alone at the bar by a guy walking out. But of course, there's always a tale behind something like this. It almost feels implied. The artwork is stunning and captures the mood (faux relaxed, confident). An interesting study in human behaviour captured ina short, succinct and entertaining format.

A perfect picture to enhance your well crafted poem. Is she relaxed or just making the best of a bad situation? I guess it's true...no answer can be given.
Excellent word choice creating this situation.
Well done.

Hi,
A short poem that conveys a lot of feeling and makes one pondering, maybe even relate to it. So often have to look stronger than they are, appear to be well when inside they are travelling a battle.
Good poem.

Your words bring the image to life beautifully...it tells an intriguing, yet bitter sweet tale of offered love rejected. It also leaves the reader pondering the reason behind the quickened retreat. Perhaps a married man deciding to rush home to his wife rather than participate in a sordid affair or a man on the run from another patron looking for his payout. Either way, it lives an extremely lively image in one's mind.
