Comment from Hugh McDowell
I like the play on this. The sands of time run at a constant pace. It is we who want to speed it up or slow it down. I often wonder if some of the castles we build are trying to hold back time, or at least mark it. Excellent. Hugh

Sort of a metaphysical feel to this one.
Sand castles are bound to fall . . . just as houses built on sand.
We hold our breath, hoping the inevitable won't occur.
Well done.
Best of luck.
Peace, Lee

Nice write on a number of levels. How often have spent hours building sand castles ob the beach only to see them washed away by the incoming tide. And there is the metaphor. Well done - DJ

I loved thinking about your poem, and what time can mean to people. The older we get the quicker time passes, so the idea of being able to slow time down so we can enjoy playtime on a beach is very appealing. The castles concept also introduces the idea of fantasy and dreaming.

I love the sentiments in this poem and of course we are all passing through life and our connections are often too brief aren't they, your words resonate with me Chip, love Dolly x

Excellent 5-7-5, Chip! It seems like every day I hear more people comment about how quickly time is slipping by. This poem gives that thought an extra facet that makes it more palpable and easier to explain. Good luck to you in the contest! xo
