I like it!..... There is so much people miss out on
when they get out in nature like that and "zone out"
with the headphones!.... It can also be kind of dangerous!
Well Done!

Yes, Wetbelly, it can be dangerous. Once i was so busy listening to my cellphone that my dog ran from me and under a moving truck whose tires missed her. After that, I never listen to music or audiobooks while walking my dog. I need to be present and in the moment. Thank you for your review.

This is a good story for the 'Free Verse Poetry' writing prompt.
Well told, well done. The picture is beautiful as well.
Good luck to you with the competition.

I want to yank headphones
from the ears of passing joggers
and scream, "Listen--
listen to your surroundings!" ... Amen Andre, my friend! Some of these folks with earbuds jammed unceremoniously into their wax-catchers have their noses so high in the air they could drown during a rainstorm!
If only we'd take the time to listen to our surroundings, only for awhile.
Lovely poem, Andre.

Yes, Dean, so much beauty exists around us that I shutter that people pass it without listening. Thank you for taking the time to review.

You're very welcome.

Yes, Dean, thanks. I really feel for you in that poem you wrote about reviewers who give you three stars and no constructive critique. I just received a three star review from a bloke who had only negative things to say about my writing. He called my work drivel, but when I checked into his portfolio he had no quality writing to show . . . only what he accused he of--drivel. He now enjoys the distinction of being the first reviewer whom I muted. I am moving on.

It's probably the same guy that reviewed me, Andre.
He hadn't the guts to post any writing of his own either.
-
This guy had writing but it was bad, ranting, and un-promoted. No wonder his poems only had a few reviews each.
-
I'll almost bet it's the same guy.
He's a newbie.

You at one with nature and appreciate your surroundings and enjoy it's sounds and your write is a delight. I agree with you and so many people miss these joys. I would say your write is a tribute to nature and living in the moment, love Dolly x

Beautiful. We all need to do more "zoning in" not only be more aware of all that's around us but what's within. I find walking to be a great time of letting thoughts and prayers flow "merging into the sky."
