Five stars for this entertaining examination of your past, your present and your future. You analogies are good, and your ending is profound and apt. Well done.

I liked the way you wrote a biographical sketch in three verses of poetry. And I liked your dividing your life into three states, each with its own characteristics. Nice job with this poem.

One of your best ever, hun. It really works, in a stream-of-consciousness kind of way. (I'm sure there are bits you've held back ... next poem, maybe?)

You did an amazing poetry-story of your life, and life in general to us all.
But this one is yours and the glimpses have so much essence of your
history , like a fast movie leaves powerful images in the reader's mind.
A very interesting and excellent writing. Pili

I totally loved the last stanza. But the other ones were very nice too, this way I learned something about all the stages of your life.

excellent use of alliteration in phrases like brown Brisbane
and puffed pink and beating on the bathroom
lovely descriptive detail of setting
Thoughtful reflections on the passage of time in the speaker's life
I love the emotive imagery of the upside down pockets of reality
This is a beautifully honest look at the speaker's life, soulful in its emotions :-) Brooke

Another brilliant poem.
Your words convey how life as we know it in the past, present and future is ever changing. Nothing stays the same as your photo shows. We progress from innocence through to senility and hopefully learn something in between.
As I read the poem relived my own life with all its ups and downs. Your words flow easily, yet they evoke powerful images and wide ranging thoughts. I really enjoyed this poem, it brought a smile and a tear.
Congratulations.

Lovely verse lamenting the circle of life that seems encapsulated in your own bubble. 'trapped in paradise' I would imagine one could feel that way after
all the government turmoil you have endured. You have managed well and
expressed your frustrations along the way. A very enjoyable read.
