thx so much whispers - and yes, there is sincerity there - what would our writing be without that, hmm?

Wonderful poem full of sentiment, remembering good old days, though we get old and we change, memories are here to stay. Good luck in the contest, I really enjoyed this! Tina

I loved this, and can see why it is a contest winner, very deserved.
It's fun and real and I love the comparisons between then and now, somethings change and some stay the same.

I don't hand out this rating often, but I just *LOVED* this poem! LOL - brought back so many memories: my first pair of jeans, my first glimpse of that alternate lifestyle - ahhh, those were good times, Baby!
Go with the flow - oh yes, it does that indeed! Beautiful read!!

Hi v1234,
I liked this little nostalgic walk through the sixties very much. Easy to see why it is a winner.
Too bad much of what was going on during that time got shuffled up with the drug culture, otherwise much of what I was feeling then I still feel today.
Peace.

me too Chris - but than heaven never got into the drug thing - and yes, it's a pity that that's probably a lot of what the 60's will be remembered for - whereas in reality it was a brave generation who actually started to question what the hell their own government was up to! thx so much for reviewing!

I think there is a little hippy in all of us. I was growing up when the hippies began to revert back to being more responsible adults. The first movement of this poem was my fav as it reminded of the lyrics from on my favorite Broadway musicals: Hair, not to forget Jesus Christ Super Star. A very interesting and personal write. Thanks for sharing and congrats on your contest win...
