A very enjoyable read, and a good down to earth message too. I've been thinking along similar lines over the past few months. i.e. To test my talent or lack of it against the publishing market.
The difficulty is knowing where to start.
Oddly over the past few days some ideas have begun to solidify, which may propel me forward.
The essay may be a little hard hitting, but there is no denying it's validity.
That's why I have given you six stars.
I saw no spag - but then I usually get so absorbed that I miss spag anyway.

There is many messages in this write and all so well done. I believe in what you say and only you can say it as well as you did here. I like your Christmas card for it comes in an envelope of honest and integrity.I have met some really nice writers here and you are one of them and no this is not a crappy review LOL. I also look at reviews as another tool to help you in your writing. Unless someone is being downright rude I always take some of their suggests and use what I can and douse the rest.
Your beautiful picture I love here also and let me tell you that keep on submitting and never give up your energy of writing for now I have started some creative writing myself and my poetry has opened doors that I never seen before. I will never know everything about writing but I sure as heck keep learning my passion and in closing to you

You are so welcome. I wish you the best of adventures as your writing progresses. This site is a marvelous way of staying wih the task at hand and puttng pen to paper, but eventually every writer knows they need to put it out there for a not so compassionate group to judge, slaughter or pay!

Okay, Spirit, you can consider this a crappy review, but I'm liable to disappoint. I like your sentiment, and I join you in challenging our colleagues to skip a post or twelve and put that money to work feeding people or bringing smiles to folks who still have their baby teeth.
What if we held a Christmas Don't Write contest (in conjunction with "Tom") that cost five bucks to enter,
and all the proceeds went to a worthy cause. How many of us would sign up?

I actually have no issue for reader fees or contest entries, but tell me the truth....how often have you promoted a piece right to the top for real cash. As you know once a submission s read by two people it drifts into obscurity, so really we spend cah to push it to the top, as I did with this one.

I thought this was well written and well stated. It took me a little while to realize that the stars here mean nothing in the real world. If I have said it once, I have said it 100 times, I'm no poet. I am a story teller, to the point that I seldom review poetry. I figure most of us only get two viewings, let someone who is enthusiastic about the genre review the poems. I agree we should all be kind to ourselves, but extending that kindness to others is not such a bad idea either.

You are one of the authors I follow, I'm on your fan list. We need to make resolutions that include setting aside the opinions of our fans and taking our stuff to the guys that can pay. You have incredib le talent, but this site while it may be a notivatiobal tool is nowhere for someone like yo to hide! Go forth and be magnificent!
