Hi, Carol, another of your exciting stories to enjoy this morning. I like the way the plot runs, and the underlying theme of true friendship between Tammy and Megan. The surprise is ... what can I say? Surprising! Strong entry to the contest.

Carol, your entry is excellent, and I loed the ending--very clever to gather the perfect evidence--an admittance from the killer himself.

I put my computer on 200 zoom. It makes reading a little difficult since it only shows about 7 or 8 words per line. Better than braille....

An exciting and totally captivating story, in answer to a difficult prompt. I liked that Megan got her justice, that she had a loyal friend who really knew her and believed in her, and who was courageous enough to do what needed to be done. Well thought out, well written... suspenseful and a good entry in this contest.
Only two minor errors that I saw:
twisting it until I winched (winced) with pain.
Shocked, he let lose (loose) of my left wrist,

Carol,
Another impressive short story for another writing prompt. You took me on a wild ride in your well written story. Great narrative moved the story along at a great pace. Natural dialogue and very descriptive writing. You've conjured up a very believable plot in my opinion. Not only Megan was alive but the Feds were putting her in Witness Protection. It was nail baiting until the end with the authorities showed up at the eleventh hour to save Tammy. It took guts for Tammy to take on the creep who almost killed her friend. Great touch with the butterfly broach. Goodness there are two other entries in this writing prompt and their stories are great too.
Melissa.

Firstly congrats for the heroism winner!
This is an awesome contest entry for many reasons, first of which is the shocking start and a gripping story. I really loved the expression and a prompt end.
