An unusual subject for a haiku. It is a good one however. The emotions in these three lines paints a strong picture of love and stability. The very base to our being. Good one. Good luck in the competition.

I never know how to critique haiku. I can certainly agree with your thought, but I felt it was a bit too simple. I expect haiku to be a bit oblique, but I'm not an expert by any means. I guess one needs to read Japanese haiku in the native language to be able to comment sensibly on it.

I'm told haiku is usually about nature but this one explicitly requested a poem about love and myself. Thus these are my words. Thanks so much. Carol

I don't know much about haiku. 5-7-5. I get that; but there is more I know. I'll have to look it up. Anyway, even if this poem doesn't meet the stringent rules of the haiku - and it may - it is so sweet, gentle and focused on familial bliss, I have to give it five stars. Despite the (to me) clunky "My/My/My".

What a beautiful little poem. It's so true that with your family around you love abounds. I love the way this poem made me feel. Well done.
