A lovely soft poem that is as calming as the colours chosen to present it. I loved this. It made me think of my granddaughter and how she comes to me for comfort when she is scared.
Great job.

This is clever, charming and, as always, well crafted. I always like lullabies and your "flowery" one is no exception.
Now I'm off to go google some of these flowers because several are unknown to me. "Midnight candy" sounds interesting!

Nicely done.

In this one you came up with a few I have not heard of. Lovely poem, beautifully written, as always and deeply moving and, for me, very sweet. Very, very nice work.

Grandma's bonnet was brand new for me, and the second I heard it I thought it belonged in a lullaby. Thanks, Valerie :-) Brooke

I can't believe all the Italics are flower names. Wow. You really did some research. I will have to print this poem off and look up some of these flowers to see what they look like. Fantastic job of bringing them into such a gentle and sweet poem, Brooke. they only added to the sweetness of the whole poem, which by-the-way, has beautiful flow and rhyme. Excellent job and was so enjoyable to read. It read like a lullaby. Joyce

selectseeds.com has many of the listed flowers with pictures - not all but most. The others can be googled. Thanks so much, Joyce. Brooke :-)

What is the opposite of Pandora's Box? I believe you have discovered it! I am a fan of lullabies and used to sing to the kids. When we ran out of tunes we made up our own.

This is quite a wonderful poem.

Thank you.

I used to make up songs for my kids all the time - unfortunately, my musical composition talents are primitive at best. LOL I usually stuck to "You are my sunshine." :-)

I was hoping for another one of these poems where you lace together the names so artfully. Patience is a virtue and mine has been rewarded. Somehow you managed to include alliteration and rhyme to tie all the images together beautifully. My favorite stanza was the last, and I shall sleep well tonight re-imagining it.

Joan, thank you - when I learned a new name - Grandma's bonnet, the lullaby came to mind. Glad you enjoyed :-) Brooke

Another six and I don't have one. I love these flower poems! What fun and what a great imagination you can train into lovely rhythm and rhyme. I would love to see you publish a poetry book about flowers.
