Thank you for your notes to provide further context. You are quite a brave soul. I enjoyed the phrase "an inch of influence" along with its alliteration. (In the last stanza I think the second "you" should be "your," and I would say "media are" in stanza four.) Thank you for sharing your reflections and the dramatic map.

Well, I not at all sure what you are trying to say in the authors notes. Whatever thing was happening to you I hope it has corrected itself as for the poem. It flowed pretty good. The rhyme was a little hard in places but it all came together. I think you were trying to get a point across more than worrying about the mechanics in your poem. I happen to agree with your assessment of what is happening over seas. Anyway, I think the poem was a good write!

Oh, it corrected itself when I made my stand. Most of this poem is freestyle with a little rhyme and meter to keep the pace up. I find that this convienently works the best for me with my time constraints. I enjoy both the variety of forms and the formlessness that poetry uses.

"for you can't stop bullets
by throwing at them, money.

They will take the offering
and use it to buy weapons."

These lines especially stood out for me. I think this is a great post and one that many will find very inspiring. There hadn't appeared to be any room for improvement.

That is something that I learned in my marriage. I wanted to keep the peace so I gave in, but it got to the point that I had to fight, no amount of money in the world would apease as she felt that she was due more. As with a step-daugher that ran away. I was her excuse and it was wrong for her to run away period. In that case, it was which fight was worth fighting. I was threated over my appearant abuse, (NOT) and it was best to let them help. Eventually she cleaned them out and they understood better. With her involved in a host of bad people, I had to get in there as her behavior could have gotten her killed. A thankless task.

I guess I learned a lot about peace and could now see the problems with obtainning it from the terrorists. We need to put the realities over the desire so that we fight the right battles and peace is attained.

Mike you did a great job on this poem. Did we really expect anything less from the Pakistani government? They have thumbed their noses at international law in the past.

This is one of the best poems I have read written by you. It flowed easily. Well done- sAm

Well, we are to blame as well. We encouraged the last president to rid itself of Taliban and when he did just that, we cried out for him to stop. Considering, they were jumping the border, we should have stay silient. This guy is doing both, kind of. The one thing that I wish would transcend with changing administrations is that the new one don't throw out the good the last one did. You have two countries doing that and things get bad in a hurry.

Great job with the poetry. I'm glad that you have a heart for these people in Pakistan and I know that it is a confusing thought. Great job with the poetry and I throughly enjoyed reading all of it.
