CUTE! This is so wonderfully conversational, yet poetic also. Great picture to match. This actual conversation actually does probably occur in various forms, so you took reality and turned it into something quite creative. Great job and Good Luck with this!

I've appreciated Sam Cooke for many years. Especially the song with"Get into that kitchen and rattle them pots n pans." How can you get very upset when your lady is "wearin one of those see thru dresses"? Your poem was fun and most appropriate for this day. Take care my friend and fellow retiree.

You are going to have to work up just a tad more enthusiasm for the job interview I reckon. This is more of a script than a poem but I guess there is a kind of rhythm in there.

I love this! The play on words made me laugh out loud and it really does capture the essence of the back and forth bicker-banter that you see between people who have spent years together.

Ha, always great to post a little humour for Labour Day, Rhonnie. Now had hubby been real smart he would've offered to do the cooking for the wife while she was off working in the factory.
Nice work and happy day to you:)

Haha.. Good one. It is a light way to celebrate labor day. I liked the re-tired reference and how you got it back in a circle. Nice work.

Hi Rhonnie, this is really very good - a great conversation between the couple. I've never heard the expression - 'lead pants' - is it original? LOL. 'Lead pants need not apply'. Labor Day - very amusing. Well displayed and perfectly written. Warm regards Dorothy x

This is so cute! I love your sense of humor, and you had me laughing.
The pattern of the conversation looks clean and neat. On that note, I only noticed missing quotation marks in a couple of areas.
Hubby.
Me? Get a job.
I haven't given that much thought."
Wife.
Well...I have. There's an ad in today's paper.
Looking for an energetic laborer for local factory.
Lead pants need not apply."
Wife.
"Well...howz 'bout...I'm RE-tired.?
Hubby...on the phone...
Hello...eh...I'm interested in that job you got."
Also-my favorite part is the ending when the wife says she is retired and the husband gets on the phone.

This is exactly the way I feel. I put in my thirty years. Now I'm retired. I don't want a job. This is a very good poem. Too bad it wasn't a contest entry.
