Great poem. At first I thought it was about coffee, but it is much deeper than that. It reminds me of someone who is still grieving a lost love but life goes on.

I wonder what 'a fulfilled' life' really is, Jimi - different things to many, I suggest, though lacking in 'cravings' would be a bonus. ;-)
You are a top expert in conveying imagery in very poetic form, sometimes in metaphors, but always vivid.
A lovely and thought-provoking free verse, and not overly long for you. ;-)
Here's a sixer, my friend.
Cheers, Ray xx

Ray,
Sometimes I am just rendered speechless, because I know a six from you is very hard to come by. I know that. I do apologize once again. It is hard keeping up with this site. I appreciate you so very much... jimi

This is a very beautiful poem. I like the description of the morning routine, I also like the repetition of the word crave. My favorite bit is the last stanza.

This is one of the most enjoyable poems I have read in a long time, I was so caught up with it from the beginning to the brilliant surprise ending. You are no doubt a very talented poet, and a story teller. I love it, a well deserved six.

Wonderfully descriptive poem that draws the reader into the scene. I did enjoy your morning meanderings and to find at the end, your fulfilled life is all that you crave. Well done poet. XX

Your poem is truly wonderful, Jimi. So full of emotion and sensory imagery. We always seem to crave for things or people in our life, but looking into ourselves, we can see how blessed we are with everything that has made up our lives so far. Excellent poem!
Smiles,
Karyn :-)

A poem about moving on, breaking the cord that ties our self worth and even identity to another that has moved on. There is a power in nakedness, an expression of no longer concealing one's true self. Shame is not present.
Love this line;
My nakedness is clothed in Barefoot Dreams
Transcending from sleep to reality, initially disappointing but redeeming long term.
Well done
