I enjoyed this very much. It reminds me of a book my sister and I found in our grandmother's bookshelf. It was a collection of horror stories that we would sit under the porch late at night and read using a flashlight. The stories scared the hell out of us but we couldn't get enough of them. I anxiously look forward to reading this book and plan to replace my grandmother's book with it (I don't have her copy any more).

Aw, that's a shame, Sasha. Old books like that are so great to get your hands on, if you're able to. I will be working my butt off on this book for awhile I hope.
Thanks again. ~Dean :}

My Gods - One learns quickly not to piss off Greek Gods - This tale is quite fitting for around the campfire.
I take it that the clock is about to switch over to 12:01 (mmm - time to wet your pants, I'd say)
Great story telling, Dean - I've never heard of a Lamia before, and I'm sure I don't want to meet one's acquaintance.
Sounds like an excellent theme for a book - A tiny tale of Terror (great alliterative title) Sort of reminds me of the Little Shop of Horrors...
Regards,
Rose.

Thanks, Rose, and I sure wouldn't want to meet up with one either. A pissed off human female is bad enough. I am not gonna even think about messing with a pissed off, part snake, part demon female beast, LOL!
Much appreciated, my friend. :}

I have written some poetry about Greek mythology but mainly dwelt with the main characters of Mt Olympus and missed Lamia's role as Zeus mistress. Thank you for correcting this error.

Hey, Alan.
I've always considered a day in which I've been able to learn something new a great day (which is -- as much as I read -- nearly every day, heh-heh). So glad I could help, and thank you for your feedback. ~Dean

You have shown an absolutely horrifying piece of art.
Your writing is just as frightening.
I do not scare easily and this is scary.
Congratulations!

With an opening line of " the clock pulses a bright red 12:01 am" there is no doubt that the opening if the closet door heralds arterial spray. Seeing the clock at 12:00 am in safety is the true dream. Razor-sharp flash fiction.
