We would all like to see an end to all these wars. All the carnage and hunger and the children with the swollen bellies and big pleading eyes being swarmed by flies. God! I just don't understand how it can go on! Thanks for writing this essay about 911. Nancy

I'm using my last star of the week on this. It was so well put together and thoughtful. It was interesting to read something from the standpoint of someone who isn't a citizen of the U.S., but you are invested in the difficult dilemma we have with the terror occurring in some parts of the world. I agree with your thought that Osama bin Laden was a freak of nature--and there have been others who inflicted suffering on millions. The "live and let live" attitude doesn't work when the other guy wants to kill you. It is up to the moderate Muslims to say stop this killing in our name. They're the only ones who can put a stop to it. Exceptionally fine concluding paragraph. judi

Thank you, both for the stars and the feedback. Yes, they need to stop the madness themselves, but remember that Osama was once supported financially and politically by the US.

You're very welcome. Countries can make mistakes, just like people do. Sometimes they don't realize what the outcome is going to be. judi

I think there is far more under the surface than meets the eye, I've seen the hatred that one ethnic group bear toward another, centuries long resentment bubbling under the surface, the Balkans, the Irish and Scots toward Britain, just to name a couple, Esau and Jacob, Ishmael and Isaac, the bible says, we fight not against flesh and blood but wickedness in high places! it's in the heavens, which has been going on much longer than human conflict, this is manipulation, which we respond to very well, being two contradictory natures, dwelling in us! Well done, with this one, well written, absorbing and detailed, I enjoyed it, I'll get the biblical reference if you wish, it's Ephesians 6:12, blessings, Roy.

Perhaps the war we should really fight is the one within us all that allows us to murder--especially using God or Allah as the excuse. Thanks.

Good and bad, do good! Two choices, I use God to guide me!

I could not agree anymore with what you wrote. This piece really got my memory flowing and even the points you made about some troops going back were spot on. As you so eloquently we stated we will never forget and shouldn't and face this new threat head on to keep it from happening again.

I think the new threat was the old one, simply waiting in their caves for the troops to leave. Thanks.

I agree with you. I relate to some parts of your story. We cannot ignore the daily increase on hatred, God is love. Why are people killing in the name of religion? Fanatics are not positive, no matter the area. I wish the world's people would decide to love more, and focus on spreading peace. Thanks

Hi Spiritual Echo,
Nice commentary. I'll never forget I was on the freeway driving to Phoenix for a meeting when I heard on the radio what happened. I looked at the radio as if it had sprouted two heads. So unbelievable.
Nowhere are we safe anymore. A kinder, gentler nation doesn't exist, and sadly, I don't believe it will as long as power and control is in the hands greed. Such a lethal combination.
Cheers & Blessings
