Hard to get all that in one syllable words. Here are a few edits I would suggest:
I sit, lone in the dark;
I sit, the lone one in the dark;
Till now
'Till now
tasted (2 syllables)
gnawed maybe?
Good luck in the voting booth. :)

This is an excellent story. The descriptions you used were so wonderfully vivid. You painted a master artwork with your words. It was so visual, I could see the bullet whizzing past his ear in matrix like bullet time. I liked that you had him stop and talk to the last victim. Especially to chastise him. 'You could've befriended me' is such a wonderfully unique line, I would've never considered it.
You had me hooked on this story from the beginning. Excellent job. Thank you for using my picture. I see you've put it to very good use.

This prompt baffles me. I can't see how writing exclusively in single syllable words can improve anyone's writing skills. Well, not for me to judge.
As with the other entries I've read, I find myself distracted by the form, so I'm not paying attention to the plot. I think you stretch in a few areas--'lone' when you really mean 'alone', for instance.
Good luck.
Peace, Lee
