YES.
"the fierce love of a mother
nurturing her child, a love that never leaves
though that child may grow up
and flee the safety net of protection,
that gossamer thread of connection
always runs, implanted deep, from heart to heart"
So true.
Nicely stated.

This is a wonderful poem - it is eloquent, beautifully romantic, deeply touching and full of fine phrases like "without condition, and more than life itself", "the whole wide world becomes part of our aura" and "nanosecond orbs and trails of white light". The presentation of it is stunning as well.

You are most welcome - I couldn't give a six, although I tried. I don't know who you are because of the blind entry requirement, but I wanted you to know how much I thought of your entry - good luck!
-
well you'll find out soon enough - and FS only allows 2 x 6's per month for one writer - I guess to encourage reading and rating new writers - but I'll take your virtual, no problem! :)

Wonderful art work and words.
Love is the greatest gift we can share
Loving and helping one another.
The gift of love we receive
Helps us all within our lives.
Love is a gift from God.
He is love and loves us all.
The spiritual love and care
That has been given to us
Will be with us forever.

thank you honeytree - and bless you for your special '6' - so much appreciated - and of course, this is a wonderful subject to contemplate and write about, yes?

I liked that in this poem you wrote of three types of love for the contest instead of simply just one type. It was a bit long and could have been more concise and still been as meaningfull but there was some good descriptive phrases thruout, especially in the second verse. good luck!

Hmmm - won't let me give you six stars....
This is a fine entry for the contest and I am sure it will do well. Although technically free verse, there is solid structure here in your stanza format. There is rhyme too, both end rhyme and a thread of internal rhyme popping up in surorising places.
Above all there is a thoughtful and beautiful description of the three types of love. very, very nice.

thanks so much kiwi! I think FS will only let you give 2 x 6's to one author per month if I remember correctly - but hey, I'll take the virtual, no problem. So glad you enjoyed!

Well, I'm always game to hear the psychology perspective about love and relationships. I might remember some of this stuff from Bonkers and/or Psychology Today Magazines.
Verse 1: umbilical cord syndrome
Verse 2: cold feet / fear of love even when in it
Verse 3: love of the spirit and God
Excellent work.
Good luck in the contest

You definitely wrote of the three faces of love here and told what each one does. It's amazing that you can see this but it is also very true.

Great poem. Each stanza seems to have a different focus and that is part of its strength. One of the reasons that I love it.
