Short and powerful, this poem could work for any parent, whether or not they have experienced what the author experienced or not.
I felt for her while also taking something rather magical away

I was feeling real low because another tragedy knocked at our family's door the other day and then this contest popped up. Maybe it was Micheal's way to helping his Mom. I am overwhelmed this morning by all the responses and the stars are twinkling everywhere. I truly have found a lot of friends on FanStory. Thanks you very very much.

Dear Begin Again, you always begin again to write more and more appreciable. Your lines of your poem giving meaning of thousand lines. Great capability I found in your writing. The better you write the better result you will get. I seem you have been gifted art by god, so you are able to write, so always try to respect this given power of presentation by god in your writing field. No way to say anymore beautifully you have written your poem and no place you have left to mark out pointing somewhere less ingredients you have supplied. Thanks a lot keep on trying writing more and more I will be reading more and more. Kamal

Touching. A happy/sad remembrance. God's gift was your son, for however short a time it might be. His next gift will be when you see him again later...

Wow, sis this is just beautiful. touched my heart, filled me with warmth and nurtured my soul. This has to be the picture you were trying to post earlier. Tell me it is and then I will tell you how much I can see you in his smile.
And if I am wrong, then it is wonderful what the mind can envisage..... just the best. smiles and warm fuzzies everywhere. luv from Me

I was feeling real low because of Nathaniel and then this contest popped up. Maybe it was Micheal's way to helping his Mom. I am overwhelmed this morning by all the responses and the stars are twinkling everywhere. I truly have found a lot of friends on FanStory. But best of all I found you. Guess Michael and God thought I was worthy of an exceptional gift this time. Thanks you very very much.

Oh, how very beautiful and sad. He was a handsome, fine and adorable boy, with a sparkling smile. You were blessed indeed to have his love for the full 4 years. Incredibly moving poem. I love the last lines where you say that your loves forever in precious memories.
I could relate to this poem, having lost my both parents in January of 2007. Part of me died with them. But they live in me, in our memories. And it is my most precious gift.

A beautiful tribute to your beautiful son Begin Again. This is an excellent entry for the contest, as the words are minimal but have a maximum impact. The photo shows exactly why his smile is emblazoned on your soul. well written, poignant poem. Well done, regards, Jan

Yes, his smile is one that I can never ever forget. It seemed to be there even when he was naughty as if you say you love me so why get mad. He was a special little boy.
Thank you so much for the kind review. Carol
