What great great fun - and yeah, boys, suck it up because it's our time to go out on the town without you! LOL Oh, if there are any rules for fun poems, there should not be, so who the heck cares if you know them? I sure had one helluva time and loved being included. The rhyme and repetition of the refrain is just delightful, Carol :-) And so is the whole darned poem. Brooke

Oh I am so happy to hear from you and know that you enjoyed it. Just heard from one disgruntled "boy" who told me he didn't like the poem and it was simply silly. DUH!!!

If the poem makes people smile...then I am gratefully happy. Your writing always puts smiles on my face and there is no way I can compete...So instead I simply enjoy your work and write my simple songs. I am happy..you are happy..whatmore could we ask..

Have a great day....I am sending you a smile today and hope you will pas it on. :) Carol

I read this poem/song Carol

felt like a jingle... felt silly. kind of felt like I had wash burn by the end of it... all that scrubbing. Almost wondered if it was shortened with less scrubbing, I wouldn't feel so chaffed with happy.

Though it was happy and silly, which is good too.

You know if I knew your real name I would have included lyou in the fun. It was only meant to be a silly song...nothing more than that. Shirley challenged me to stop writing the gloom and doom and this is what popped out of my mind. Sorry you didn't enjoy all the scrubbing bubbles.... Sending you a smile and hoping you willpass it on. :) Carol

: ) Not much does rhyme with Turtle I guess. But yes, I sensed the happy. And I too, was glad to see happy stuff coming from you.

Just seem to be on a foot sandwich roll today... My mouth/fingers and the right thing aren't quiet connecting.

Well, we all go there some times.

Me, I'm back writing a testimony about how I became me.....Guess you know where that will end... So I am glad I had some smiles.

Have a great day! :) Carol

I enjoyed this girl's night out bit of fun and even recognized most of the girls. Sometimes this site seems to get bogged down with sad poems and suffering and something light and fun us always welcome. Well done.

Hi Carol! What great fun this wonderful little song is! I'm so thrilled that you put me in your lilting lyrics. I feel absolutely famous now. LOL You're right, this is a lovely change from some of the dark topics that we've all touched on lately. Thanks so much for giving me the gift of a smile and a giggle this morning! I also love Minoyasue's artwork, which was the olive in our martini for "girl's night out"! Thanks again for this lovely bit of "happy". - Karen :-)

Cute write, Carol...I am however fearful that in my house a ladies night out that even remotely contained the concept of scrubbing would be frowned upon as getting "down and dirty" seems to be the preferred style here with all the cleaning up left to the morning after. :>)

I enjoyed your smooth flowing humorous poem....smiles back 'atcha.

Put it all depends on what we are scrubbing...song says we are going to scrub the mean right down the drain...Maybe we'll have to use a little refreshment for the purpose...Laughing and living...

Sending a smile to you and hope you pass it on... :) Carol
reply by Amicus on 25-Sep-2009
Yes, I know the scrubbin' was to eliminate the mean but the "ladies" here tend to do some wicked gossiping and hilarious mean truth-telling when they gather over the grape and often spend the next day mitigating with mirth or cleaning up the tongue trail from the night before. :>)

Well Carol I think you were scratching at the surface scrubbing along. It may make people foam at the mouth with all the foam. But you can tell them to keep taking the tablets - However be careful you don't soft soap them.
With the waving away of the men in your poem, I was waiting for you to start singing I'm going to wash that man right out of my hair. Pitty this isn't in a contest Carol, I am sure you would clean up with it...

Now I am smiling from ear to ear because I've heard from one of my favorite friends....The girls had tohave a party to loosen up a bit...Too much doom and gloom lately. But once they're singing tunes...I'm sure you guys will fit right in.

Sending a smile to you and hoping you will pass it on.

Have a great day! :) Carol
