This is just beautiful and certainly makes me want to go there. I've never been outside the US except to Tijauna many, many years ago. You could write for the tourist beaureau there... Lucky you! Great job. Is this for the contest? If so, good luck!

Hi Marcia (may I call you that?) no contest. Just "travelling" in my mind. So glad you enjoyed this little tour! Thank you for your very kind review. Always appreciated...Sue

What a lovely tour of Paris. Your words had the rhythm and rhyme that made it easy to follow. I did stop however to look up arrondissements. I guess I should have just waited till the end. Your notes were very helpful for someone who knows little of France. Great poem, Keep the travels coming.

pabelk, I really appreciate your lovely words. For you to go look up the word, arrondissements, is a great compliment! HA! Glad you told me that because I just now posted by the title, "See Author's Notes". I wonder where I will travel next while sitting on my sofa! HA! Thanks you for your review. Much appreciated...Sue

Yes Paris is a beautiful place and the art work is superb.
Your words that you share to your trip to Paris are truly beautiful. Walking along the streets, Notre Dame, the gardens, cafes, the art galleries, Mona Lisa's Home, Venus and the Effiel Tower.

Wow! I have been there as well and your words bring back memories, we loved Paris.

Honeytree.

I really enjoyed reading this poem...it brought back a few memories for me too. Your rhymes are great and unforced, and the rhythm even. I loved some of the images, "And Venus, towering without arms/Under your great dome"; and the artists' place. Well done. :)

I too enjoyed this journey. I could see Paris in your descriptions, feel the city, hear the sounds, and smell the aromas.
Very well done.

Ahhh!! The cafe aromas! Don't get me started. The Patisseries with their lovely desserts! And their beautiful language...makes you want to speak back in French to them immediately! Ha! But, can only say a few words here and there. Thank you so much for your lovely review. Glad you enjoyed it. :-)) Au revoir!

In 4th grade we studied French.
    so, au revoir mes amis
That is all I can remember, except how to count.to 10.
Your response was such fun. LOL

Isn't it funny how you remembered that phrase! Same thing happened to me. We learned one phrase in grade 2 and I never forgot it. There must have been something about French that we just loved! HA!

I think it was the idea of France, of Paris, of the romance of the foreign place. Something so totally different, and far away.

Evil Eddie get you or did you mean to put a copyright symbol in line 6? He got you with the ? marks too in your authors notes. Got me bad earlier. You have taken me on a journey to a place I will never see except in my mind through your writing. joan marie

The copyright sign was an error that is now gone. Upon transfer from "Word", somehow those questions marks came up also. But, they are gone too. Thanks for bring it up, though. It is so cool that you say this work has taken you on a journey! That's the biggest compliment I can get! Paris is magnificent and I do miss her. When you are there, you just walk and walk and walk....everywhere! So glad you enjoyed it and that I could share one of my favorite cities with you. Warmest regards, Sue

Everybody calls the ? Evil Eddies and the spaces between verses and paragraphs that magically disapper when you post. I check posted work a couple of times before actually releasing it. jm
