Hey Mike K2

I thought the poem was well written for such a hard subject. The notes too were very interesting. The worst story I've heard so far is how Al-Quida sent two girls with down syndrome into a shopping mall. These girls got in no problem but had bombs strapped to them, which were detonated by cowards outside. Now, are these poor girls martyrs? Did they die willingly! Some things are just too disgusting to compliment.

Excellent poem.

The best poems that I have read were way over my head, though I can't mention her name as it give her a complex, I set about tackling the poems and the more that I read them, the greater they became to me. Then with her help, she gave me the confidience for me to write the way that I do. In a way, much of my poetry is designed to paint a picture that you can come back to. Thank you very much for your compliments and review.

you have written a very thought provoking poem, mike. myself, i personally believe that the only way to beat terrorism is to not be terrified. that's the only way we can defeat them when they are willing to die for the sake of whatever the cause of the day is. you can't fight it; you don't know when, where or why, but you can live each moment to the fullest and not worry about the time to die.

thanks!

I believe that one must risk being out in the world to experience the full joy that it has to offer. I agree with you very much and thank you for this review and your compliments. Mike

I dont think of these people as martyrs. They are murderers. They take lives that they have no right to take. If they feel that need, they should take their own lives only. They are cowards.
A great write.

Believe it or not, I did mention to a Palestinian that I believed that God would appreciate their sacrific if they go out into the field and destroy themselves with out taking innocent lives. It would not only show more virtue, but the world would appreciate it a well. Sort of defeats the purpose and removes that arguement from one's reasoning. I loved this review and thank you so much for your compliments. oxxo, Mike

There are many ways that one can describe the word martyr..none of which I find that the killing of innocents would suggest the meaning fits. To stand and suffer for a cause one believes in is one thing, but to kill innocent life in the name of anything is not martyrdom! The rhyme scheme used in the work kept it moving along nicely...good write!

First off, you spelled sacrifice and nomadic wrong. This poem is pretty good. You obviously have a lot to say on this subject. So do I. But never enough time, and always alot of bitterness. Great job here, Dogz.

Thank you for pointing out corrections that had to be made. In this case I was motivated with a sense of urgency, more then bitterness, though I despise terroristic acts. Thank you very much for your compliments and this review.

Hello my friend,
A very powerful write and one that will create great debate. To me they are nothing more then cowards hiding behind religion-- wanna be hero's who have nothing left in life to live for... Again, powerful write and it was an honor to read... Dancing in Dreams

Hello, war is big business, America tells her people how much it costs, but fails to tell them how much it makes. Big bikkies!!

Have you ever considered the idea that terrorist acts may be as a response to our Western way of life that they don't appreciate and yet we insist on shoving it in their face.

Then there is the little fact of America having her claws in lots of other countries business, which she has no right to do. I think you should follow the oil and money to see who the real villains are.(America mainlines gasoline)

It would be interesting to see if Americans apologized to the rest of the world, and then withdrew to their own back yard, if the terrorist attacks would diminish. I think, over time, they would. Hell will freeze first though. You also, put yourself in their POV and speak for them. I have a feeling, in their POV, they wouldn't say this. So that came across as presumptuous for me. Bit like Satan putting himself in Jesus POV, so he can state his own views.

I actually found the poem full of stereotypical responses and cliches, and the author notes are tedious (American) diatribe.

Didn't like this one much.

Abby

Well, I remember that Sadam Husaine declared war on use and also threatened New York. But we are all intitled. Terrorists deserve no quarter. To see me reality on peace, view, [The Longest] Poem for World Peace. I just pointed out the mindset of the terrorist's and actually didn't put America in the poem.

Your mindset is straight American speak...that is what I am trying to tell you in the review, you are not entitled to put yourself in their POV. That is license, as you are of the opposite mindset. Their POV would produce a different poem from another place on the spectrum.

Your opinions and statement could be straight from one of President Bush's speeches (spare me). You didn't have to state that you were American, it is implied in your bias, that is patently obvious.

Have a great day. Nice to talk to you, I enjoy dialogue, AD

I sometimes wonder whether Bin Ladin isn't a complete fabrication of the CIA's. If they find that dude, Lisa Simpson here, will eat Barts shorts.

I wrote this piece to express my views on Martyrdom and to consider this, I realize that I won't change other minds. No sense in arguing.

I do believe that Osama Bin Ladin is his own creation and no body elses, including the CIA. Whether or not his is alive, I believe is debatable, but you must take into account the area that he is in. In Scout's we played capture the flag between two mountains and it was hours before you saw the other person. I captured the flag but had to climb up a hundred fifty foot rock outcrop to get it, people gave up guarding it. I walked it back to camp and half of the people gave up and the other half was still buried on the mountain. In nature photography I did the spook stuff and went after bear. I knew I was in the area because of the piece of deerskin that I found that was ripped off of the neck; talk about being human! After three days, I got as close as the bears scent, a nausous experience from hell. These are not dumb people, they are skilled and know the ins and outs of the area.

On a more humorous note, I wrote, "Ex-Prime Minister," which talks about tyranny and sent it to the white house. They grabbed my zero page of memory and knew who I was. Not the way I anticapated getting a priority treatment. My guess is that the captured the word assassination and automatically logged me. Nothing to worry about and it would happen with any administration. I can't blame them given todays climate.
