I am in complete agreement with you on this. Wouldn't it be wonderful if everyone felt this way? As it is, there's too many who will only work together with people who are exactly like them. Here we sit...waiting for the world to change. Good job on this one, Jesse

Here we sit waiting for the world to change is a classical example of people following instead of leading. Thanks for your kind words.
Enjoy the upcoming weekend.

A great philosophy. This reminded me of time in my teens when I was a Playground Supervisor. I was playing a game with a bunch of the youths there. One boy kept causing trouble. Finally, I asked him if he knew how to play the game. He said "No". So I taught him gently, and he had more fun than anyone else. I learned a valuable lesson that day.

Sometimes ignorance is a viable excuse. Sounds like you learned a great lesson that day at the playground.
Thanks for your positive feedback.

One of many lessons I've learned in my life.

I really like this. It's simple yet profound. If each of us teaches, through word or action, we can change the world! Perhaps the most important lines in the poem are, "we must lead not follow, today, not tomorrow." Thank you for offering words to live by. I hope I can live up to them.

I know you can, Michele. You've got hutspa and it shows in the way you write your poetry.
Thanks for being one of the first to review this poem.
It feels good to get back to writing poetry for a change.
Your support means a lot to me.
Have a happy day.

Yes, we must continue to use our own brains and not follow anybody. If in question, then pray about it. God will give us answers. I hope you know you remain in my prayers.
