Well said, Roy. I also believe that every gift is from God and he will pour through us as we seek Him and humble ourselves. This is a superbly written verse that is so meaningful and true. Great job, Roy.

-Impressive artwork and
nice presentation, Roy.
-I like the subject of your ballad.
-Effective imagery and rhyme.
-I like the questions you raise,
like "What stirs the scribal cauldron"
and later is a nice follow up with
"canyons of the mind."
-I enjoyed reading it.

Universal Masters hand has given the gift of art to his children. It is upto them to use it to reveal the inner feelings and the real truth.

It's good to pour your heart out every so often Roy,
share uplifting thoughts and feelings,
And rhyming lifts it more.
We will submit, but, never surrender.
Submit is a mischievous word.
Belief is the strongest medicine. :-))Z.

Yes, the poet exposes his/her true yearnings, makes himself/herself vulnerable. The poet's gift is to delight and inform, to move the reader, and to do it in a well-expressed creative way, both in terms of language and imagery, and the joining of both with appropriate structure and rhythm. Certainly a gift.

I agree with the words of your beautiful poem. God gives the talent as a gift that is meant to be used to His glory. I know talents in the Bible refer to money but they like hiding the talents in the parable meant losing it in the end so we much use the talents God gave us.

This a beautiful lyrical poem and it is also quite true. I love the rhyme and meter and the gorgeous imagery. I agree, I do believe that we are all given gifts to be shared with others, however I disagree that we aren't meant to profit from them. The world has wonderful poets and writers, artists and musicians. There are skilled craftsmen and cooks and teachers who had an innate gift before going on to learn how to utilize it. I enjoyed the poem very much. Nicely done.

It?s really without thought of profit Mary, I?ve made very little in return for my expenditure, it would be nice, but I love writing, the rewards are of the soul. Thank you for these lovely words, blessings Roy

I agree. I've written since I was 16 and gotten little more than the pleasure and satisfaction of doing something I love. When it's in your blood, you have to do it no matter what! Right?

"Poets...", is an exceptionally well-written and spiritually-uplifting piece. Not for a moment would I attempt to answer this excellent poet's soul-searching questions. To me this is definitely a six. I very much look forward to seeing your next post.

Wonderful and good morning, my friend.
I too believe that God blessed me with the ability to write and express myself for the enjoyment of others. I find more pleasure in knowing someone enjoyed what I wrote than I do the accolades I might receive. My efforts are for their benefit. Your poem says it so well. You, too, are an extension of God's plan for us all.

What truth the quill will utter
I love that line Roy in your beautiful Poets poem. I always feel I can let out emotions in my poems much more than I can say them out loud. I wish I had a six left. Beautifully said. Cheers
