Well done what a beautiful poem and so moving as we are nearing Remembrance Sunday not far away, when we remember the soldiers and other troops who fought and died for us in those dreadful wars. I have given you six stars as I think this is one great poem and thanks for sharing.

I had to give this six stars, it's so well written and very touching to the soul. My husband's uncle had been on that beach, and when he used to tell his story, you could feel the fear that they felt that day. Thank you for sharing this amazing piece.

Thank you for the review. I can't imagine what it must have been like on that beach. I shed tears as I wrote this.

A beautifully written tribute to those brave men, the ones whose lives were lost in sacrifice and those that returned to speak about the horrors of war. Beautifully written my friend, in abcb rhyming verse, in an articulate and compassionate form and verse to honour those men. Well done, blessings .Roy

This is a sensitive and honourable write about the aftermath of war and the memories that can sometimes be painful as the moment is relived, much enjoyed Paul, love Dolly x

This is an outstanding piece of poetry.
The story incorporated within this rhyming poem is poignant, powerful and very effectively told.
The poem is packed with genuine emotion, and a message that resonates well.
The imagery created through the words of the poem is vivid.
Fantastic job.

You have written a very poignant narrative poem. I can almost see that old vet handing that packet of Normandy sand to the Speaker. I like how the Speaker then enshrines it in an old hour glass. Rod

Skilfully written by a Poet of note. A poignant recollection. A touching story. Each time I see an hour glass I will think of the invasion of Normandy. Well done and best wishes

Such a beautiful and deep poem: "So I added that sand to an old hour glass
That I keep on the desk in my den,
To honor the battle on Normandy beaches
And soldiers who fought back then.
And now when I turn that old hour glass
And watch the sand as it pours,
There's an extra minute of time in that hour
That I think of those Normandy shores." Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.
