"In the past 24 hours, I have regained and recovered
resilience, perseverance, and an undying commitment
to better myself, with the added bonus of giving to others."
Such profound words you have chosen showing that it is up to each one of us to find a way to rise above our circumstances and live in hope.

Thank you so much, Anne. This surprise review is just what the doctor ordered, so to speak. I appreciate your kind words. I always try to live up to what I wrote that day, and so far have done so with flying colors. Thank you for the excellent rating and review.
Have a great day,
Jesse

I would give you six stars if they were available. Who was it that said "Physician, heal thyself?" I done forgot, but it's great advice. It takes strength to help the weak. It takes self-confidence to teach self-confidence. It takes self-reliance to teach self-reliance.
It takes strength to admit weakness. We need self-knowledge to teach others to know themselves. Without humility, pride is foolishness.
I am happy for you, Jesse. I know that the day is coming when i will feel helpless and hopeless, but when that happens, I will look to your example for inspiration. Jeff

This poem, Self-preservation, reminds the readers that our inner turmoil affects how we care for the rest of the world. Here's hoping all is good with you.

I celebrate with you! Amazing self realization that you have within you the very best you need to grow, achieve, cope, and hope! I've always looked up to you...I may not say it enough, but I do! Others may support you, but so great to see you now have the courage to say YOU are your own best advocate! This poem reaches me--it will reach many of us!--Karenina

Wow, what a boost to my morale! I look up to you as well! Your poetry is always outstanding, and your reviews, insightful and meaningful. I love the sound of being my "own best advocate!" I am happy this resonates with you and hope to reach many others as well. This is by far the best review I have received so far!

Simply wonderful, Jesse!
Your free verse poem resonates with me for I, too, "Never have I doubted that I would hold onto hope" during the most trying times of my life. There haven't been many, but for each one, I have always believed that whatever was happening was for a reason, and that truth and honor would persevere.
I appreciate the paucity of words you have employed in your presentation. Your words are honest and real.
So very pleased that I am home now, and that I was able to read this inspiring verse.
Thank you for sharing!

Good morning, Diane!
I am glad that this resonates with you, too. I like your reference to 'truth and honor' persevering the times in your life which were especially challenging.
Thank you for your kind comments, especially commenting on my honesty and how that comes through when I write.
It sounds like the roads cleared and you were able to take your grandson back to his own home. I am happy you read and reviewed this piece.
Have a beautiful weekend!

Hi Jesse, it is indeed hard times we live in at the moment, but I'm glad to see that you're resilient. Life is short, and a lot of us feel that we're loosing years to what is happening to us all. The more important it is to take solace from our surroundings and our inner strength and never lose hope. Ulla:)))

about your feelings of how
you cope when the world
seems to be crashing down.
-I am glad you have "regained and
