This is a well drafted essay writes about some of your co-workers who in course of chit-chatting tells about their activities, in the course of discussion, you told them about your novel, they expressed their good wishes to see your novel on the New York Times Bestseller list, and you told nothing is impossible; well said, well done; enjoyed the read; thanks for sharing this; keep posting. Good luck. ALCREATOR

I do appreciate the sentiment, and the pep talk. Personally, I have little interest in publishing. Today, publishing houses no longer cultivate talent.
Instead, they distort and exploit it. The hoops you're require to jump through simply in order to get their attention are prohibitive--unless you write just like someone else. Even then the houses do little of the work, yet take an exhorbitent amount of the receipts. In my view, they drain all the allure out of writing professionally.
Your story is well written, but perhaps a bit unbalanced. The beginning is leisurely, rich in texture. The end is abrupt and unadorned. Also, the first paragraph has some spacing issues.
Just one man's opinions.
Peace, Lee

Hello Lee--Gee, I can't see the world, nor the publishing business, like you do, and I'm glad I can't. That being said, I was with a publisher, but now I self-publish. As for being unbalanced, yes, it's your opinion. Other people thought differently. Thank you for reading and reviewing this true story. Wishing you all the best.
Blessings,
Cathy

I enjoyed your story of personally coming to a realisation that you could feasibly become a best-selling author, or at least a published one. I think once we name our dreams; "I am a writer / an artist etc" then we are on the way!
A minor correction: After continuing to talk about it, one women (woman) comments (or 'one of the women comments')

Hi LisaMay, Thanks for reading and reviewing this true story. It's a memory from my past, and I've since published 4 novels. Not bestsellers yet, but many readers. I can't wait until "Love Long Distance" co-authored with Bill Bishop (Commando) is published in a few months because I do believe it will happen then. Yes, we have to name our dreams and dreams can come true! Thank you also for the correction. Much appreciated! Wishing you all the best.

Your story spurs hope for all who put pen to paper.
You formed a believable situation in the company
lunchroom. Being a published writer is far more elusive
than most people realize. Hardly anyone personally
knows one.
Your story offers hope, a dream that can be attained
through hard work and a little luck.
Best wishes in the contest!
Peace,
Richie

Hi Richie, I am a published author of four books so far. My first two were with a publisher who covered all expenses. I now self-publish and own my own publishing company. Dreams can come true, so keep writing and believing. Thank you so much for reading and reviewing my true story. Also, thanks for the good luck. It helped! Wishing you all the best.
Blessings,
