A very well-written heartfelt story. A parent that turn their back on their own children who may have a different sexual orientation is not worth to be a parent. I went through the same thing with my oldest son. It is not easy, to accept at first but your child is yours, no matter what. We are suppose to love one another despite our differences.

Some times the Christian Faith falls far short of the needs of its followers. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very serious read.

Patty,
I will not judge you for your actions. You did what most mothers would in my opinion--protect your son & look out for his best interests.
Your story is poignant & relevant. I am sorry the church told you to leave & not return.
We all have issues--some we keep private. But by sharing yours here, you allow others to feel less threatened. That may be a way for them to communicate hidden issues themselves.
If others don't like this then they can deal with it. I see nothing wrong with you & the way you wrote this. I wish only the best for you & your family.
I said I wouldn't judge you. But this may look/sound like I am. It isn't. This is just my opinion.
Best wishes in the contest. Jan
