What a beautiful tribute, Dawn. Luna would love it. Your words moved me to the point of becoming misty eyed. I did not know Luna, personally, but have read several of her poems - all about her son. She was in such pain over the loss, and I believe, her writing was a release for her, and helped her deal with Mickey's death. I know it was only recently she returned to FS, but I was not aware of any health problems she may have had. FS has lost another fine asset to the site. The comfort comes in knowing that she is reunited with her son. I hope she has a family member who will request an eternal flame for her profile, so her works continue to be available for all to read.
I'm sorry for your loss, Dawn. I can identify with the pain and sorrow of losing a very dear friend and fellow writer. There is a special bond, or connection, between writers, and losing that friend is devastating. I will pray for your heart to heal.

We hit it off almost immediately - she was my new, lovely friend. She called me and we had a lengthy conversation. Then the next thing I knew I was reading in the forum how she'd had a fall and was going to the hospital to check for concussion. They admitted her, but for pneumonia! I just talked to her about a week ago (there, in hospital). The doctor didn't want her on the phone, taxing her strength the second call. That should have told me...she had been online a bit and we had made arrangements for me to call, but after the second one, I didn't call again, just kept watching for her to come back to FS.
Suzanne, this was a women grieving the loss of her son terribly, yet SHE reached out to ME.
She was such a nice person! I'm going to miss her lot. It sounds odd because we didn't know each other very long, but we became instant friends.
Thank you so much for your extremely kind and generous review, my friend.
xx Dawn

This is a lovely tribute to Luna. I didn't even know she was in the hospital. How sad. Your love and compassion for your friends is heart warming and uplifting. I wish you and her family all the best in this difficult time.

Although you didn't know each other for very long, it is so nice that you at least had that special time with her. It is so sad, that she passed so quickly, and from pneumonia. How old was she?
-
I don't know, but presumably a fair bit younger than either of us - Mickey (her son) was only in his early twenties.
-
We all expect to live forever, it is so sad to die that young. It must be very hard for her family.
-
So true! :(

This is an excellent tribute and I feel I am remiss as I don't understand what has happened. Very well written and short to the point and very well done as only you do best.
added: I read your profile, thank you for letting us know. This piece is exceptional

I had been reading her posts and they were very good and I knew of the loss of her son whom she grieved. You were there for a reason at the time she needed someone. I am proud of you
-
Oh, Barb, don't be - SHE reached out to ME - a woman so terribly grief-struck. But thank you, my friend.

I read her poems dedicated to her son. She was an amazing poet. I am sorry you didn't have time to meet her. You & she would have had a ball together. Take care. Jan

Thank you!!! Yep, I think we would have. :(

What are you talking about? What have I missed? This sounds like something in particular but I won't believe it until I hear it from your own lips/keyboard. Oh no.

She died early yesterday morning, Robyn.
-
What happened to her, Dawn?
-
Robyn, I've answered you - said it three times - are you okay?
She passed away early yesterday morning from pneumonia. :(
-
Okay. No, you said she had HAD the pneumonia - went into the hospital for it, but all your poems sounded like she killed herself to be with Mikey. Just my troubled mind working...THANK YOU!
-
No, dear one, that's NOT what I said - I said she took a fall (it was in the forum - she wrote it before going to the hospital). She thought she might have had a concussion. She went to the hospital to be checked, and they found pneumonia and kept her.
She and I talked while she was in there too, Robyn (on the phone - she had called me previously and we had a long talk), so when I read about her fall in the forum, and then we 'talked' on line, I told her I would call her in the hospital, and I did. Twice. By the second time, the doctor had told her she should save her strength - not be on the phone. (She was getting oxygen by that point). So I never called her back. I just kept anxiously waiting for her to show up here again... :((((((
-
Please, my dear Robyn, please - stop looking for bad things where they don't exist - you make me worry about you!
If you had told me that I would develop such close bonds with people here just a few years ago, I would have said you were nuts.
But I love you, kiddo. Stop fretting. Relax. Go kiss and snuggle that beautiful grandbaby for me, would you? (and wear your boot!!! LOL)

Dear Dawn - this is always so heartbreaking to read of ones passing. This brought tears to me and though well penned I seem to be stuck in the words and life lost between your lines.
Thanks for sharing.

No, it is "Luna", not Ryme4u. It was very sudden/unexpected. She took a fall a couple of weeks ago and went to the hospital, thinking perhaps she had a concussion. They kept her, but not for concussion - she had pneumonia.
Thank you very much, my good friend.
-
No I'm so sad, that's terrible, thank you Dawn
-
I'll pray for her relatives
-
Thank you, Roy - the family asked for prayers! Bless your kind heart, my friend.

Most welcome

Dawn,
This is a beautiful tribute to Luna. How sad that she has gone so suddenly. It truly goes to show that we never know when or where something may happen to us. The music, the poem, and the psalm/picture are all perfect. I'm so sorry you've lost a good friend.

I had not heard of Luna passing away - does anyone have any details on this? As far as the poem is concerned, the work is excellent. The rhymes and rhythm are expertly crafted and the somber message is rendered in beautiful verses.

Yes, I do. She took a fall, and went to the hospital to check for concussion - they admitted her, but not for a concussion, for pneumonia. She passed away this morning after being in hospital since posting about her fall in the forum (about two weeks ago, I think). I just talked to her a little more than a week ago - I was shocked to hear the news this evening.
Thank you very much for your kind comments about the poem, and your concern over our wonderful friend...
-
I hope you will understand this next comment - but I am sort of happy about this; that she died accidentally or naturally. It just seemed to me that she was so fixated on her son's death and the numerous poems she wrote that had a bit of a somber, if not depressing spirit to them, at times led me to believe she might end up a suicide from grief at her lost son.

A very well-written heartbreaking poem and tribute to a beautiful lady, I known for a while. It is really sad, but I am sure she will smile and be at peace when she meet her son again.
